If we were to get to Wembley again next year (1 Viewer)

What would you change if anything in regard to tickets, hotels, travel? Or would you keep it all the same?

To my mind, having been on the coach this time, next time out I think I would try and get a hotel, not for the night before, but for the actual night of the game.

Found the journey home laborious and no doubt there were massive queues at Wembley Central and Wembley Park especially, if I was training it.

Loved the view from my seat (Club Wembley), so would plump for that again, but would change my travel plans.

Would go for a train return, but spread over the two days, or pay the £16 for the coach travel and only take the journey down and get a single train ticket the day after.

Would have been great to go to the hotel, have a bit of respite and then go out for the evening in London.

If I can't afford to take that option I would definitely plump for the train, but book for a much later time back, say after 8pm from Euston. Quieter and guaranteed seat.

Think a hotel the night of the game is a much more appealing proposition than the night before the game, personally.

So, what would people change?

I think I'd want yo stay the night down there aswell Otis, our coach journey back was pretty good with a fair bit of singing along to tunes the resident DJ was blasting out, that and a relaxed coach driver helped the time pass, but i would like to go out down there afterwards also.

I wouldn't change anything, club Wembley ( Booby Moore Lounge ) return train tickets and stay at hotel night of the game and return the next day, it's so much more of an enjoyable experience, of course winning helps, it's the first time we have done it that way and i would definitely recommend it, LESS HASSLE.

I was travelling from Gloucestershire so went down the M4 and parked at Rayner's Lane tube - car park was empty when I got there. £2.50 to park all day and it's only a few stops from Wembley (Metropolitan line). Getting back was a piece of cake. Mmm cake. Walked straight onto the tube at Wembley with no waiting. Once back at the car, traffic was pretty light in that part of London, M4 a little busier but we got home pretty quickly. 10/10 would do the same again if we were there on a Sunday or Bank Holiday.

Last year the queue onto the tube was a nightmare, I got straight on the platform and on the first tube at Wembley central and onto a Gatwick Express down to Brighton with a fair few other city fans onboard!

I'd do exactly the same but book a day off the following day, the whole day took it out of me.

I was in block 231 and would definitely try and get a seat around there as well, it was a great view.

Not sure I could cope with another Wembley appearance in a hurry (I feel drained after yesterday - and that's after we won) I drank more than usual (naturally!) though not to any embarrassing extent (I knew I'd have to hold a coherent conversation with my wife when I got back). Also emotionally draining. Fantastic occasions, but fairly sure that it knocks several weeks off my life span. Second thoughts - maybe can face another Wembley or two - beat Sunderland in the play offs with a disputed goal next year. Now that would be fun!

Hospitality in Club Wembley £215 (x6 as family comes first for me, ouch). Last year hotel too, as its a once in a lifetime thing.

This year, I drove, as its a twice in a lifetime event. Painful as the £215 is unlimited booze.

Next year, same again, as the experience was amazing.

Wouldn't do a lot different apart from bringing more beer, as we didn't go into any pubs before the game due to the queues, so we ended up opposite Tesco express, under the trees soaking up the atmosphere, with a few tinnies we'd brought from home.
We went into J.J. Moons (whetherspoons) pub after the match though, where it had a great atmosphere with a lot of City in there, relaxed and enjoyed the whole evening without worrying about trains, coaches etc. to get home.
We came down the day before and stayed over in the hotel, checked out Tues (Today) and had a leisurely drive back to Cov.

I'd book tickets nearer the bloody front, so I don't need binoculars to see who's who on the pitch!

Also, if somebody could actually tell the staff at Wembley Central Station that there is a special train to Coventry, so that when some rather confused people ask which platform it leaves from, they actually know where to send us without having to look at Google maps, that'd be pretty swell too!

Oddly there were two lads having a blazing row for most of the journey back on the train. I was sat there thinking to myself "good job we didn't lose!"

Drove up from Torquay which is a four hour drive. So we decided to stay over Sunday and Monday. Stayed around Maida Vale area which was perfect for the tube into Piccadilly for a night out and about four or five stops from Wembley (though the heat on that train nearly killed us)and all not too pricy either. Definitely do it again next year.

Pretty much did that for the Checkatrade, staying at the Novotel afterwards was very relaxing and had a good crack with Cov and Oxford fans.

This time I went back after the game from Wembley Stadium station and luckily we walked through the que barriers without stopping and straight onto a train to Marylebone. However, those going back to Warwick Parkway or Birmingham Moor St weren’t so lucky, the ques were huge.

I would go for a two night stay next time.

Not a lot - spent Saturday and Sunday in Brixham, Devon at my parents house. 4 hour drive to Wembley and then back to Cov after the game. I think the only thing I would change is possibly have the next day off work

Change nothing train Rugby 9 56 Virgin to Euston (cheap as chips 3 adults and a child £49 return relaxed sat round a booked table).Took Tube to Wembley loads of time to soak up the atmosphere into the stadium fairly early .We did everything leisurely booked a later train 7 23 back just in case E T or the dreaded spot kicks enjoyed a meal, back from Euston at half past 8.The only thing I might change is if we had a situation that Sky Blue Harry H envisaged against Sunderland as I booked a drive to park on and the guy answered the door in a Sunderland shirt (if Otis is looking ill get in first funny place for a door) might not have any wheels left if we won.

We parked in the multi story next to the Cov end, thought it would be a nightmare and hours getting out not just the car park but London as well. So easy, straight out! Bit of traffic heading towards M1 but Back in Cov just after 7.30

Wouldn't change a thing. A1(M) then cut across to A5 to end up on street parking at Queensbury Jubilee line station. 2 stops to Wembley Park. Easy peasy to do the reverse after the game & was back in Norwich at 8 15.
Now going to have to take my Liverpool F.C. supporting son-in-law every time as he's seen us play 4 times in total and we've won every time !

A31/M27/M3 to Richmond. Overground train to Willesden Junction then Bakerloo line to Wembley Central. Trains nearly empty. Reverse journey after the match, trains nearly empty again. Simple, straightforward journey there and back. Home just after 8:30.

Wouldn't change a thing from this time as it all worked so well.
Got train from Coventry to Euston Sunday lunchtime, walked to Euston Square tube and straight to Wembley Park. Stayed at Novotel for 2 nights and had room overlooking Wembley Way so enjoyed the whole atmosphere the whole of the time. Got plenty of beers from supermarket opposite the hotel (even a bottle of water was £2.75 in the hotel). Left hotel 10.45am Tuesday morning and back indoors at 1.45pm, 3 hours door to door. The whole thing absolutely went like clockwork. Of course the icing on the cake was City winning in such spectacular style. What a weekend!

We stayed for two nights. My optimistic brother booked the travellodge in Wembley about 2 months ago and cost us £40 each for 2 nights. The morning was great because didn't have to rush, we walked around the stadium, met the Rotherham back room staff still knocking around then headed to the Arch at about 10ish and stayed there and went back there after the game. Ended up in Moons then back to the Travel lodge where we drank to the wee hours with other city fans and a few Rotherham fans. Great times.
Tickets were the last row behind the scoreboard, virtually the same seats as the checkatrade which was perfect as we could stand. Wouldn't change a thing!

Would do Club Wembley again, was brilliant. Block 239 had amazing view. Mate drove, Parked at Ruislip Manor for free. Wetherspoons for breckie opposite tube. Left ground after players started celebrating on pitch, only waited bottom of steps at wembley park. Back to car for 6, home in Lincoln at 8.30!!
As it is a sunday may look at hotel overnight, though overall experience was good.

Wouldn't change much, we went down on the Sunday and booked into the Holiday Inn at Wembley. Had a night out around Trafalgar Square which was pritty good but all the places were closing around 11 apart from a few places. I'd stay the night of the game too, but its a bit risky, imagine if we got hammered.
