Let's just talk hypothetically for now, but if it were to happen, which players would stay?

I know there's been lots of talk of who we should get rid of, but I am coming from a different angle and just wondering which of our squad would choose to stay and remain here?

We'd have the kids obviously (Philips, Willis, Thomas, Burge), but I can't think Fleck or JOB or Reda would stay I would have thought.

Stokes? Well, I would say he would for sure.

Martin? Webster? Proschwitch? Tudgay?

I know we talk about culling in the summer, but I would think a relegation to League 2 would result in the need a total rebuild and we would lose the players we would want to keep, let alone the ones we would want to get rid of.

If we're relegated, then that question you've asked Otis could only be answered by about 2000 fans that care, most will walk off into the sunset leaving their City love behind.

I honestly couldn't care less right now who will be playing for us next season, all because we have no future layed out for us at all, can't even look further then Sunday at present.

Keep the kids, release the rest.

Well yeah, I agree. If we stay up though I'm sure we will be looking to keep JOB and Reda and probably Fleck too.

We will have a nucleus to build from. If we go down it will need a TOTAL rebuild. Not that I think we would be challenging in League 2, but creating a whole new squad could take a long time to gel anyway.

There's not many I would wish to keep, but it becomes all the more tougher when the ones you DO want to keep don't want to stay.

We are not going down needs to be a HUGE shift all around us for it to happen, we are decent away, I would be more concerned if it was at home on the final day.

If we go down and I've a feeling we will like skybluebeduff says not many will give a toss who stays and who goes.
But to answer the thread I'd have a mass cull like they did to the badgers and as a dog lover if your mutt is in pain and dying you have it put down !

I would think more than 2000 care.

If we go down, I will only have to travel 3 miles across town to the away game at Sixfields!

From what I saw on Saturday people shouldn't be too concerned about that lot leaving. They were all poor and demotivated. My guess is that Johnson { although injury prone}, Fleck and Madison { although needs decent man management} are the only ones worth keeping.

Who knows with Fleck. You'd think not, but his career's not exactly been in an upward spiral.

If we go down next season we should be jumping for joy at the thought of not playing Crewe anymore.

A defeat for us at Crawley, a win for Notts County away at (nothing to play for) Gillingham, a draw for Crewe at home to (nothing to play for) Bradford. That is not a huge shift. Even then it discounts the outside possibility that Colchester will win both their games, which means only one of those two outcomes would need to happen in conjunction with a Cov defeat. Going on last Saturday's gutless and shameful performance I'm not confident at all.

Why would we want to do anything for Joy after what she has done to us?

my thoughts exactly, a huge shift is bournemouth losing 20 nil, our case is not by any means a huge shift. Imust admit to being quite concerned for the coming weekend.

We are shit at home so saturday was to be expected, away we are a different kettle of fish away, hopefully they see 1600 fans foaming at the mouth for the points and understand the consequences if they do not pull their finger out for one game.

It was a huge shift before the Crewe game, but not as such anymore.

We have to accept that it's a very distinct possibility that City will lose on Sunday. We all know that we are more than capable of capitulation at the drop of a hat, so it depends on which City team turns up.

It would honestly be a struggle to bring myself to watch League 2 football, after the dross I've watched this season.

Tbh if we go down, it is the first real step in us ceasing to exist.

A huge clear out as we can't afford the wages with the crowds again halved to about 4k if we are lucky.

I think you will find that it is not a step and is more a slippery slope.

I can't imagine many of our players will be in demand if we are relegated, it will probably be the case of the club looking to move them on purely from a wage bill perspective

Am guessing Mark Palios is somehow related to Bryan Richardson.

I am now looking forwards to League 2. It could be fun.
