In view of it only 15 years or so since Villa got to their last final (I can't even remember that ) I was wondering how much it means to supporters who reach an F.A. Cup final every 6-7 years on average . Can it mean as much to them as their first ever final experience when they get to Wembley for the umpteenth time ?

I went in 1987. It is a day I will never forget of course. However, I did consider last time we went on a cup run that if I got a cup final ticket and a member of my family who was a staunch City fan tried and failed for a ticket I would consider giving them mine. For me a cup final with city is, quite literally , a once in a lifetime experience, and I've been there. If I could let someone else experience what 1987 was, I would.

Would anyone else be prepared to give their ticket up for son/daughter/ grandson etc ? Of course , if you didn't go in 87 you're probably wondering what the hell I'm going on about.

Assuming I got the ticket by being a ST holder or attending games the answer is NO, never

Nothing will ever surpass the feeling we had on the cup run and cup final in 87, I'm sad my children (14 & 16) will probably never get to see City in a final in their lifetime and that they have to listen to me telling them about the old days of top flight football and winning the cup.

For a bonus point can anybody else remember the bars that were handed out by the young ladies at the front of the Leppings Lane end at Hillsborough??? and if you were there what a PA system more like being at Park Lane Night Club than a football ground.

What a day, what an experience, I cant ever remember being so happy, all I really wanted was to celebrate a goal at Wembley. Just going to Wembley is an experience, but I should imagine losing is awful.
I should imagine a championship play off final win would be pretty special to

I wouldn't give my ticket up for all the tea in China, I was 1 year old when we won the cup and have never experienced Coventry being the winners of anything. I even made a stupid promise to myself when I was younger that I would never go to Wembley until I got to see Coventry there, something that I've regretted for about 20 years.

That's why things like the JPT final that never was were so upsetting for my generation and below, it might have "only been the JPT" to some of the older fans but for me and the youngsters it was a chance for a trip to Wembley, to experience a final.

If we got to an FA Cup final now I think I'd cry for a month

What a day, broke down on M1 in my M reg Triumph Toledo with 2 others in car. RAC Turned up and amazingly told me I didn't have to go with my car, so flags out, Bloke with kid stopped and tooks us upto Sheffield, even brought us back to Cov after the game.

I made myself a similar promise... never go to new Wembley until CCFC get there. It's becoming annoying, but I don't think it would be the experience it should be unless it was CCFC.

Been to Old and New Wembley countless times for England, cup finals and other games. Only experienced a decent atmosphere once which was with Man City. Impressive place though. Doubt I'll ever see City play there.

I went in 87, I was 21 so I suppose I was lucky. I would love my lad to see City at Wembley even in a JPT final, so I'm not giving up hope. I just hope it happens before he's 21. Twelve years to go...

ONly ever been to Wembley a handful of times, the Cup Final, the Charity Shield against Everton and an American football match when London Monarchs used to play there.

I went to the old Wembley { Much better } in May '87 and back again for the Charity Shield in August. Went to plenty of England games too before the extortionate revamp but have only been to 2 England matches there since. Have no further interest in seeing anyone other than City or England play there.

The only person I would give it to would be my son.he was 5 when we won the cup and has been going with me to the games regular since he was 7 and now he is 32 and like most his age has not seen any success since 87

I went in 87 as a 12 year old it was my first visit to Wembley as my dad said that we would not go to the ground until the Sky Blues played there, went to the charity shield and then a few internationals after, I haven't been to the New Wembley and won't until we get there which would be nice as a play off final as I think having the semi final of the FA cup there spoils the final. I hope that my children will get a day out there one day but won't hold my breath.
