...We would be in a far better position.

The reason we aren't winning away is down to confidence.
I bet the players (especially the younger lot) go away and the first thing on their mind is the 'we haven't won away all season' statistic.
If we had held on against palace and won, I believe we would have picked up 3-4 away wins this season, that would have meant near safety.

Anyone agree?

If Thorn had done his homework.

If we had got that penalty shout against Ipswich

I went downstairs to get a drink with us winning 1-0. No sooner do I have a 5 minute chat and come back upstairs, I see we manage to lose 2-1; I don't know whether that tops Ipswich away under Coleman a few years ago, but we seem to have it down to an artform. :facepalm:

I agree. I was at that game and it was a sickening blow. They'd battled so hard and we played the majority of the game with a midfield of Thomas - Clingan - Bigi - Ruffels. So for us to be one up was a great achievement. I remember juke missed a great chance to make it 2. And when the winner went in all the players looked devastated.

I genuinely think we'd have got at least 2 or 3 away wins if we'd held on that night.

They played that game with a fair amount of confidence. Bigi was particularly impressive........the manner of the defeat was hard, particularly as we should have scored a second and perhaps a third......JUKE's performance was typical, full of endeavour but his finishing :facepalm::facepalm::facepalm:quite dreadful.
Palace did us for pace in the end down both wings, Christie was skinned for one goal and Murphy was at fault for the winner around seven minutes into injury time.:facepalm::facepalm::face palm:
I remember Thorn's look of devastation at the end.
Ruffles hasn't played since.

The game that BBC Coventry and Warwickshire were Telling us we were 1-0 down when it was in fact 0-0. It was a postive however as it was just about the last time Martin Winch and Geoff Foster were together on the radio.

Agree with every thing said so far, we were bloody brilliant that night considering who we had out there.. Players were torn apart at the end, as was I.
