Absolutely right in my opinion but maybe joy and his relationship is such they there’s a mutual respect there

They'd need the hubble telescope to spot it (particularly in this cold weather)

I fully agree with this, I often tend to think we are better than we ‘and the team think we are,
And that was early season with all the draws.

I think we'll finish top 2 . Its about time we escaped this damn awful league and actually through the right end this time.

Not from our current position, I agree. However it would still represent progress from last season.

And that we would be back to square 1 next season as the squad would be taken apart and it would be another rebuilding job.

To finish the sentence "If we don't get promoted..." it would be a massive letdown, especially considering where we are in the table now. Granted, Sunderland and Wycombe have, on paper, an easier set of fixtures left to play, we have the advantage of playing most of our top 6 rivals at home (except perhaps Ipswich). Tend to agree with most on here about how this represents our best opportunity for promotion and the uncertainty of the future if we don't achieve that goal. So let's not even think of the alternatives and focus on the task at hand which is promotion one game at a time.

It’s not going to be easy as so many teams are on good runs - you basically need to win a game to stay where you are - madness.
Definitely our best opportunity in years to get back to the Championship. We need to take it one game at a time and hope the pressure on the players to deliver doesn’t mean they “bottle it”.
If we can win the big games against the teams around us it will take the pressure off - 3 points gained & 3 taken away from the chasing pack.
It’s these games that mean the most IMO.
I think we will finish top 4 (hopefully top 2).

I tend not to comment on the football stuff as I'm having a bit of a sabbatical this season. Even if I did comment the usual morons would complain saying how do you know so and so played well as you werent there zzzzzzzz......

Even if we don’t go up, it has been a good season no matter where we finish now. I get that success is where you finish so you could argue if we don’t go up it’s the same as finishing 19th but football is about enjoyment and no matter where we finish now I’ve had the best value for my season ticket in a long time, probably ever, which is what I base a season on.

Yeah I agree with this. I would be devastated if we miss out totally this season (it is bound to be a playoff final against our friends from up north as well!), but once I’d sobered up and got a new cat I’d still think we’ve had a great season.

I’ve enjoyed the football, the atmosphere and the relationship the fans and players have more this season than any since the cup season (that was something else tbf) and winning / not losing much has obviously made a huge difference to the enjoyment factor. And when I say atmosphere it has felt less toxic this year, rather than ‘rocking’ every week.

It’s particularly enjoyable living in Birmingham to be genuinely proud of of what we are doing rather than just smiling and changing the subject when the locals start.

The only downside has been the ongoing stadium issue, and that will also have a major influence on next season, one way or another.

This is the first time in 53 years we have been in a poll position for an automatic promotion spot and with games in hand too enough to give us all nose bleeds. It will get nervy and with 14 games to go there’s bound to be a bump or two along the way, but it’s in our hands with 14 games left, win 9 don’t matter who against we will make it imo.

Is that right that Robins said that promotion wasn’t the target this season?

Can’t see 2 better teams honestly and Coventry are performing at the business end of the season. No other team wants to play us right now.

I saw it on here somewhere, the quote was something about promotion wasn’t the target this year- I assume just progress was- and that we are a year ahead of plan.

How people can say it will still be a good season even if we don’t make play offs are off their rocker (especially from this position).

If we don’t make play offs from this position it will be a complete and utter disaster. Not that I think that’s going to happen.

Autos is the aim. Can’t see the wheels falling off. Keep the faith even if we get the odd bump.

Was my biggest criticism in the last 3 seasons that we don’t put runs of unbeaten games together. That’s what automatically promoted sides do. We blagged our way out of L2, we should have walked that league with our squad. But Robins is showing every sign of learning, adapting and improving from that. I’m scared to trust and believe but all signs point to us going up from here. Kind of annoyed. Expected this to happen eventually but thought I’d enjoy it when it did. Oh well. Looks like shitting myself every week for 3 months is the future.

We stand every chance of promotion , I hope and believe after Accrington we will be at least 5 points clear of 3rd . This coming month the most important for decades and the tension is palpable.

7 points from the next 3 games would suit me.
Rochdale win Rotherham win or draw Sunderland win or draw if we beat Rotherham.
Got a sneaky feeling we might bag all 9 points though - now that would be a statement of intent!!

Not sure anyone’s saying that, it would take a significant balls up to miss out on the playoffs. But we could very easily get into the playoffs and lose. As bad as it would feel, objectively speaking, finishing say 4th and losing in the playoff final would still be a relatively ‘good’ season. It would be gutting, but if you remove emotion from the equation it would have been a better season than last.

We will go up automatically.

Now for those who think otherwise that we will perhaps fall off the cliff edge next season if we fail to go up, then look at Portsmouth or Sunderland who both looked like they were going up last year. They failed ultimately but have come back strong again this year. So I would see us doing the same again and be betterf for it. MR's remit as has been said, was not to ensure promotion this season so I would see SISU backing him the same way for a good go at it next year.

If we don’t go up and stay at St Andrews we will struggle I feel next season players will leave budget will be cut & quite possibly Robins maybe will feel he can’t do much more playing away from the city with little money to build.

This is our time we have to take it with both hands,Automatics is my feeling though.

Im just going to stay positive. I honestly believe we will be top with points to spare even if we lose at Rochdale which won’t happen.

If we win our next three games then I think we can start dreaming of a top two place.

There will still be more twist and turns to come so I'm not counting ky chickens yet.

If we don't finish in the top 6 then it has been a failure of a season considering where we are now.
