I'f we did get Adkins this would be a very good appointment . We all know what he did at Southampton and was unlucky to get to boot from there . This man certainly knows what he's doing an the type of players you need to get out this league . At the time Southampton were in our situation they were a similar size club to us . Would he need to drop down to league one again ? Or is he waiting for a championship club . My first post to this thanks . !! PUSB
Problem is that Adkins has earned himself something of a glowing reputation now, having got back to back promotions, and let's be honest, not doing all that badly with Southampton in the top flight. I suspect he'll be waiting for a job higher up the chain. Of course, this all depends on how desperate he is to get back into management. If he's keen to get back in as quickly as possible, then maybe there is an outside chance. Personally, I'd love to see it happen, but very much doubt that it will.
Adkins took chances on players like lambert and he lived up to his rep in the lower leagues . He would bring in quality players given the chance and maybe sneak a few Southampton .
Well if you don't ask you will never know.To me he would be the stand out candidate, and we can always put in a release clause in his contract,if maybe a club like Huddersfield are looking for a new manager in a few months time. A lot of Premiership clubs seem to have a marked reluctance to give English managers a chance,so it is no means certain a Premiership club will come a calling.A few years ago Curbishley was seen as a great up and coming English manager, now his name is barely mentioned.
