They may, depends if the 6.5% has been delivered; if so, it'll be over-subscribed again - as that's a decent return. There's every chance it will be and thus a smaller issue will probably be successful too.

It's just false hope for people to think that Wasps will leave town if they haven't got £35m in used tenners in a wheelbarrow by 2022

I think it is a bit naive to think they would go tits up like that, like them or hate them they have shown they can pull things out of the bag so I think it would be very strange if come the end of it they say "sorry, cant do it, back to london we go". However nice it would be!

There's many people in the city and surrounding area who are very much enjoying Wasps being in the city - just to offer some balance ;-)

They're not going bust any time soon; and although I can see why people with a love of the football club would not feel well inclined toward them; they've only got their dibbers on the Ricoh and Allard Way in no small part due to the behaviour, declarations and 'negotiating stance' of the club's owners - which have imperilled the health of the football club as a 'human-shield' in search or financial redress for their failings; and those of council members past and present, I hasten to add. But; those ships have sailed.

Too much energy is wasted on negativity; and I may not be popular in saying this, but Wasps aren't the biggest villains in this sequential car-crash. The club's owners need their feet held to the fire, by regulatory authorities, democratic representatives and fans groups to now tell us all what the medium term plan is. If that needs council backing, then they need to offer a level of support that's equal, if not greater than, the support they're offering Wasps currently

Totally agree , the crunch will come when the bond (aka a remortgage) has to be repaid. Current finances from attendances etc would get no where near it.
I'd love to know what the break even attendance figure is , considering I still haven't met anyone who has had to pay for a ticket it must be well above 22k.

You are hanging your hopes on what appears to be a savy business operation failing to rescue a badly run and finance starved hedge fund that is killing our club and are prepared to wait 7 years? Have a word with yourself!

you're right. SISU tampered with the brakes but wasps snuck into the wreckage and stole the victims valuables.

Interestingly I was speaking to someone this morning who works at ACL who said Wasps were getting a little concerned that the paid attendances from locals, which they seems to class as CV1 to CV6, was dropping off. Couldn't get any details on numbers unfortunately.

I thought that 90 odd percent of their customers were supposed to be from CV postcodes? Hopefully they'll soon be bankrupt and out of the city.

Wasps are a big rugby club, whether you like it or not and are already prospering and embedding themselves in Coventry.
As for gates, you have to put it into perspective, at Adams Park they would of been lucky to get 5K at the weekend, so 12K is a success, they'll grow when the European matches start. While CCFC's appear to be on a new downward spiral 8K last weekend, talk about empty blue seats.

Considering that you appear to be relatively sympathetic to their plight, surely you would feel the same way should CCFC relocate?

Yes, I am sympathetic to Wasps, well spotted, what I want now is CCFC playing at The Ricoh as tenants with SISU gone and owners who can work with all parties, instead of suing them.

It would of been much better if CCFC owned (under new ownership of course) The Ricoh and Wasps were tenants, but that isn't the hand we've been dealt.

I don't agree with your stance MMM but the above is a well reasoned and well put post.

Personally, I don't see Wasps as the biggest villains either. SISU undoubtedly are but Wasps have taken advantage of our situation which along with the help of CCC, has pretty much condemned our future unless something drastic happens.

I had a long drive back from Leeds to the South Coast yesterday and was trying to thinking of an analogy to summarise my thoughts on whose to blame for our demise. I came up with the following:

* Richardson et all pretty much give us a death sentence with frivolous spending.
* Sisu euthanized us and then built a coffin.
* CCC asked Wasps if they wanted to be the ones to knock the nails into the coffin.
* Wasps obliged providing the hammer and nails.

Just my own thoughts...all of the above are to blame for our demise, probably in that order as well (in my eyes only).

Wherever anyone's synpathies lie, the sad truth is that all of the damage done by SISU, however severe, could have been repaired eventually by a more beneficial owner, but it's highly unlikely that the damage done by CCC in selling ACL to Wasps can ever be repaired

I will predict they will not be in admin any time in the next 10 years after that the people may change but the present incumbents seem to have a viable 5-10 year strategy & I see no reason they'll screw up unless they are overtaken by force majeure.

The moment to offer a level of support is gone. The ricoh which would have given the club an asset and revenue streams was sold. To a London rugby club. Thus adding a sporting competitor for ccfc and more directly crfc. Who at the time of sale and recently have been doing well. Why doesn't anyone get that? Unless sisu fuck off and the council turn round and say wasps were only here to get rid of sisu. Ccfc can have the ricoh back. Even if the council let us build in the city. It can't be funded like the ricoh was through the tesco sale. Even if we built exhibition halls, hotels and casinos. We would be in competition with wasps and the nec. The council by selling the ricoh to wasps passed up on the opportunity to help ccfc.

I don't think they will have any problems in the next ten years, but twenty years time it would be interesting to see.

Rugby is a game that seems to peak and trough with fortunes and currently Wasps are on the up, whilst coincidentally their neighbouring clubs aren't. Northampton my team are on the downward slope as are the Tigers. The Tigers have raised their head above the parapet this week re the Salary Cap, and are dismayed that it is going up. They haven't the finances to deal with clubs such as Wasps who have the extra financial backing, so in the short- medium term Wasps are doing well. (I hope Rugby doesn't go the way of football with a few dominant rich clubs as it will kill the spectacle and the competition and people will lose interest)

It will remain to see how they or other Rugby clubs do when the financial backers want out, or to reclaim their fortunes. Some clubs have survived and done well whilst others haven't, and Wasps have seen this happen before, so may have learned from their nomadic existence at QPR and Wycombe, or may not. This isn't just for Wasps though, it could be the case with other Rugby clubs, and Football clubs...look at us!

Why do you troll a fans forum of the football club you claim to be a lifelong fan of?

You're a prick, better for you? On the wind up because you have nothing productive to say. Go back to the wasps forum and snigger with all the other morons at how wasps and ccc are ruining sisu/ccfc.

What you stand for is the essence of nasty.

You claim to support a club that you sneer at. You refuse to attend and suggest that is the sign of true support. You perversely revel in any success it's biggest threat to it's very existence achieves. You applaud wasps and defend them to the hilt.

What do you think jimmy hill would think of your comments? I think he'd be appalled that someone is gloating over the clubs demise to its supporters who have stayed loyal and he certainly would be angry at anyone who supported an infiltrator like wasps.

Go and have a lie down and have reflection as to where your loyalties lie.

My understanding of what's gone wrong, who's to blame and how to fix it are obviously poles apart from yours, that DOES NOT give you the right to be abusive to me.

My loyalty to the football club I've supported since I was a boy is undiminished. Wasps play rugby not football therefore I don't see the conflict like you obviously do.
