Is it worth petitioning/protesting to the land owners not to sell the site to SISU?

I can't see that they'd care who they sell to.

As i said on another thread,

6.4 miles from Brandon to CV1

4.2 miles from Ricoh to CV1.

Tim said the new stadium would be closer to the city centre than the Ricoh.

Brandon is further away from the City centre than the Ricoh is, so it can't be there. TF wouldn't lie to us.

Edited to say damn you Otis... ;-)

You don't know these land owners ..........

Tbf they will know SISU won't exchange contracts so they will probably be just using SISU to raise the price with the others like SISU are just using them.

The other poor buggers have to raise there best and final bid because of the SISU muppet's little game

If they are interested in Brandon, I hope they realise the site has at least one listed building, which has hampered development in the past.

Also if they do get their hands on it does that mean two Coventry Sports teams with fantastic histories will be at the mercy of SISU!!! My God they could buy the Butts Rugby ground and cock all three teams up....football, speedway and rugby!!!

Ok - just getting my Tin Hat on...IF this is going to happen and I mean GOING to happen (I am not saying it should - and I don't want to leave The Ricoh)...Brandon is an ideal site for ME!! I only live 5 minutes away and with TGI's just before and after the game...:claping hands:

Would be very surprised if that happened. I'm sure there has been planning applications rejected to improve Brandon in its current form.

Even if it did this idea of a ground in 3 yrs would never happen with the appeals & public enquiries. The road struggle's to cope at the minute when we go to Brandon for F1 stox on Saturdays

Sandhu would not give two figs who buys the stadium providing he was getting the best price possible, why should he care anyway.

so does all the roads around the Ricoh! Rugby council are a different kettle of fish to the Coventry City council and this place is on the perimeters of the boundry so will have very little impact upon their council they will see a better utilisation of a peice of land that has been floundering since the heyday of the mighty bees.

The road to Brandon is just one single lane. Massive difference between that and around the Ricoh, which is 3 lanes along the A444.

The Ricoh is so much more easily accessible. Can't see how anyone can argue against that.

The traffic to Brandon would come to a standstill on match days and the residents will be up in arms.

Agreed. To compare the A444 and it's proximity to junction 3 of the M6; to the path from junction 2 along the by-pass through Binley Woods and into Brandon is to compare Otis Redding to Jedward. The only person in support would be the landlord of the Roseycombe.

And that's without factoring in the influence upon roads adjacent to the University Hospital, which are already the subject of much heated discussion.

This idea has all the merits at it's disposal to rival Leonard Brody's text-in-a-substitution concept

Wouldn't read too much into this. Doesn't seem like there's much substance past the other 2 sites saying SISU hadn't bid and the guy selling Brandon saying he wouldn't say who the bidders are, not really much to go on!

As this thread has acted as opportunity for Mr Dhinsa's name to rear it's head again; thought everyone might be interested in his 'reported' Q1 results for 2013:

http://www.athlonegroup.co.uk/athne...reports-financial-results-for-q1-of-2013.html

He appeared as mad as a shoe last time; but those figures are preposterous.

Please let our next owners - whoever they are - have at least one foot on Planet Earth.......
