If Wasps really are in the process of buying a stake in the Ricoh does this mean that CCC are now honour bound to assist the club in locating and purchasing land within the City boundaries and then ease the way to get planning permission to start building a new stadium within the cities boundaries ASAP?

I say yes.

I would suggest they are honour bound not to sell off the City's football stadium to another rugby team...

If these idiots have not already started negotiations then they can neither expect nor warrant any help from any corner.

Always thought that CCC should have bent over backwards to help with land/planning permissions for a new ground.

No hiding place for Sisu then with plans for a new ground, would have called their bluff magnificently.

If, a big if, that Sisu were actually genuinely serious about building a new ground, then there would have been another major sporting facility within the city, which could only be a good thing.

Would have thought a win/win for the council basically.

Would people rather play on Sundays, on a terrible pitch at the Ricoh where it will be branded in Wasp's badges....

Or

Play on Saturday's at a ground we own...

It could come down to that.

Quietly deflecting my question there....

So i'll ask again - will you still defend ACL if they agree to sell to Wasps if at the time of the deal (which is after the club have returned) they did not allow the club to put in an offer or negotiate??

Not had the opportunity?

Was it not SISU that came out with the road map idea where they would share the stadium with CCC? Was it not SISU that never kept to what they agreed on and then start all the litigation to try and get the stadium on the cheap? Negotiations? More like give us what we want or we will batter you in court.

100% correct Lord. CCC should try and find land for SISU to build a stadium. I don't have a clue where in Coventry that a stadium could be built after living away from the city for so long. But I can also see a list of excuses that SISU could use if land could be found. They could blame CCC for not allowing planning permission for anything added to the build other than a stadium.

I actually think that SISU were serious at building a stadium at one stage. They keep going on about needing the income 365 days of the year. For this they need more than just a stadium. But they will have found straight away that it is difficult to get something like the Ricoh where there are other income streams like a supermarket to help pay for a build. So we would just be going around in circles still.

It is about time that SISU stopped all of this crap and took a partnership forward with CCC. Get Higgs out of the way. We all know that it is the cheapest way forward. It is the easiest way forward. It would even be cheaper than the constant litigation which isn't getting them anywhere. They have most probably wasted more money already on the litigation than buying out Higgs for the price they agreed on.
