When you look at it , what a horrendous walk to the train station if you were an away fan

Was always intimidating even as a ccfc supporter. So some things have changed for better, even if parts of Cov are now gang ridden.

It’s not exactly a short stroll now at the CBS is it

In the 70s the away fans were escorted to and from the ground from the station by a load of police, along Gulson Road and across Gosford Green. After most matches the Green was like a medieval battleground as police horses charged back and forth, then lots of ambushing all the way back to the station down the side streets between Far Gosford Street and Gulson Road. Horrible after dark, a bit like the walk back to New Street after Blues away in the cup last year!

When you compare it to the source photo he basically just bulldozed a row of houses to build that new West Terrance/Stand. Other than that looks nice.

Not sure this is really any better than the actual Highfield Rd. I can’t see any real capacity gains so would it really be worthwhile? The Sky Blue Stand side is smaller in depth than it was and without the West Terrace end being a double decker, (despite Catherine St. Houses being demolished), I doubt there would be a definite advantage? I like the style and effort of this design, just not convinced it would be cost effective. Not that the Ricoh has proven to be cost effective either…..

Funnily enough, I very nearly had the same reaction.

When I see the brickwork on the stadium, in any photograph, it reminds of matchdays; seeing that as we walked up the street and into the turnstiles.

Also reminds me of waiting for the players, and trying to get autographs. Funny the little things you remember.

I've never been back there since the Derby game; I had a look on Google Maps and so many memories came back and ended up feeling depressed as fuck.
