If Cody, Platt and Nimely are all injured (1 Viewer)

Can we still win at Burnley by packing the midfield and by playing with one up front in McSheffrey?

You would guess Bell would have to come in and him play at the tip of any diamond or similar formation along with a midfield of Clingan, Deegan, Bigi and Norwood.

Or do we say that if those 3 are all injured we have no chance?

With all three injured, we'd fall under the 15-fit player ruling for emergency loans. Can we do that with the embargo - given it's an emergency and all?

Forget playing the fecking diamond away it's not worked all season that's part of the reason weve won 1 away game on the sheffers up front when he was upfront for a couple of games over the Xmas period I think he scored a few goals and probably played the best he's played all season.but given that we've got a couple of injuries I think left midfield is where he should play.We need three wins on the bounce to have any chance on staying up.The strange thing for me is we've went 7 games unbeaten and still ended up being 4points a drift.Just my opinion

So if you want Sheff left mid who is playing up front? I would guess that out of the three injured lads, at least one is going to have to play through it a la Hussey.

But drop whom Coop? McShefrey's scored 8 goals this season, and either 4 or 5 have been penalties. So, from open play, he's a one-in-ten player; there or thereabouts - which isn't much different from other options we have. Moreover, and I'm sorry to say it, he's prone to put in less of a shift than most - which is exactly what you want a player to do at this time of the year. Even in a squad as thin as ours, he's barely worth a starting spot for me.

And as per my other post - we haven't been rigidly sticking to the diamond formation for months now. It changes from match to match, or even during games - according to whoever's fit and able to play

Oh, and he won't track back to cover his full back; which given our only left back is carrying an injury, and otherwise we're playing with right-backs or centre halves at left back; rules him out from the left-midfield place for me. Just my opinion

But since he's our top scorer and a set piece taker he must play, no? Especially if we do play 442. Who else would you play out left?

He's scored 9, and only 3 pens.

If their not injured, lets just fucking go for it and play 4-3-3. See what Platt, nimely + McDonald can do together. Pop Norwood, Clingan and Macca in midfield, and the normal 4 at the back. We need wins, and we may as well go for it. A draw is no longer considered "a good result".
Without these 3, we are screwed, cause we have no players. 5-4-1? Norwood up front?

Would be interesting to see us play 3 forwards for sure. At least that's what I call giving it a go.
