My point is that a lot of these people are anonymous and their reasons may not entirely honourable.

And to answer another point, you might know where you have invested your money but you might not know if that is re-invested somewhere else.

Exactly! 50k for example for a fine will be from ccfc. So that 50k will be made up somewhere else.

She won't be paying it, if she was I'd have a different opinion on it.

Oh yes, I forgot-that 50k could have been invested in the team!

My investments are, as far as I'm aware, anonymous.

Just because they are.

Look, hedge funds have more slack regulation than many financial services and, to my mind, their actions sum up what's wrong with modern society (but without it, London wouldn't be a leading financial centre - go figure) but they're a perfectly lawful way to invest... unfortunately.

Just because some fans think that yesterday's actions by some fans was counter productive and basically juvenile troublemaking for the sake of it does not mean that some fans accept or endorse sisu. I don't think you'll find one Coventry fan that's happy with sisu. I hop you understand that.

Reading this thread is heart breaking. I wouldn't ever resort to that level of protest myself but can't help but have sympathy for the fans who feel like they have to. I don't have the answer but I do know that soft protesting hasn't worked and neither has sympathy of other clubs. Once we drop into league 2 we'll be long forgotten about like Blackpool and will be harder to get any press attention. Other clubs fans' just don't care...in fact, I can remember when Palace were close to the wall I was disappointed when they survived administration and relegation as it would have been another big club out of the championship and we would have been able to poach some of their players...I wonder how many opposing clubs fans have a similar point of view. Also, in spite of the cobblers fan making a reasonable attempt at understanding our plight before offering advice - you have to be in it to understand the intricacies of it, the distance we've fallen and the desperation of our situation. This is nearly twenty years of mismanagement and frustration coming to a desperate head. If we are to have any affect on getting SISU out, it won't be pretty.

You say obviously but can you tell me, as you were there, was there any violence on the pitch? anybody injured? I suspect we know the answer that to that and it was a few guys who have had enough of the passive protests and let their frustrations boil over with NO harm done to man nor beast.
As I say I wish it hadn't happened but I also wish we had never darkened your doors for a year or heard of our owners but we are where we are and because of that you should IMO try to be more supportive rather than spending time on here trying to dig out our fans. We have enough on here who are doing that and I can understand that just as much as I can get why some feel inclined to take a more strident approach.

it's just a smoke screen, (no pun intended), to detract from the fact that their fans bottled a 60 year old, (for the 2nd time this season), ignore the prick.

I've made no attempt to claim any moral high ground. I've also been decent enough to describe nobody as a c**t(yet).

I'm reasonable enough to realise that all clubs have a share of idiots following them (and you are increasingly seeming like one) but that tiny minority does not in any way represent everyone associated with the club.

Days like yesterday and posts like the one above just make less tolerant people think well fuck you then. I hope your club does go to the wall.

That's my point really.

Anyway I'm clearly over staying my welcome. Good luck with it. I sincerely hope, for the majority of decent Cov fans, that you are successful in getting rid of the cancer that is killing your club.

I will re-iterate what I said in another post, I am long past giving a fuck what other fans think.
However, if the shoe was on the other foot, I would 100% back those protesting, no matter how misguided they may be. The frustration has to come out somehow and it can't always be well thought out and constructive, that's just human nature.

I have no issue with you joining us Mr Cobbler, however I would say
'that if you poke the bear with a big stick you shouldn't be surprised when there is a reaction"
We are all raw with emotion at our plight and hopefully you will understand that and never find your club in this situation( yes I know things were difficult you guys the other season). Good luck with staying up and may our paths cross again in better circumstances.

Forgive me for being dim, but im from essex and have followed the Cov for about 50 years but only get to hear whats going on through this marvelous site. As I understand things SISU isnt a company with a brand name as such, that would be damaged through negative publicity like say British Airways or Rolls Royce, but a conglomerate of financial investors that dont really give shit about the club or its off field activities. Visual protests don't effect them at all as they will only leave in their own good time, the only thing that would worry them is hitting them in their pocket with a devalued club to eventually sell or give away.

Sisu need to be hit rather than the club to make a difference so either a mass email campaign to them by 10,000 people or sending them 10,000 letters might have more of an effect. It should spam their systems up for a day or so. It might make more of a statement to them.

Or they are trying to hoodwink people who are not really up on this sort of thing, a bit like Timmy boy. For instance someone like that might ask you if you know where your pension funds are invested, personally I've little idea though I could find out a few facts if I put my mind to it, but it is the investment managers for the institutions that make decisions not the people who put small sums into their funds that count, their job is not to make poor investment decisions and to get out if they realise their decision was not good.

We have our own people on the pensions board. We get regular updates. And it is all low risk. I get informed where it all is. But it makes no difference to me. The company I work for has put nearly 100m into the UK pot in the last 5 years. And will put more in if needed.

And for Grendel. So you know about pensions. How much high risk is allowed these days?

Hardly, its whoever is managing their pensions. Also relevant to the pension discussion isn't it?

I guess it explains why Jack was straight on it if that's how it was taken.

You're using a distraction technique again ....away from the real issue. The inept environment that Otium [under the control of umbrella company SISU Capital] have run the football club.

Just so I have this clear my own head

Neither the Trust nor Jimmy Hills Way campaign organised or planned any form of protest for the game at sixfields and did not at any time encourage the use of smoke bombs or going on the pitch.

The actions that happened were planned and conducted by a small number of fans acting of their own accord.

That the vast majority of traveling fans took no part in the events other than supporting Ccfc and anti Sisu chanting

That the vast majority of fans though they could understand the frustration were saddened by what went on.

Or have I got that wrong?

You'll note that I was not distracted by your post, so no need to bother the NHS. If I had been distracted I would have joined in the conversation regarding the benefits of a with profits pension against and final salary, etc.

Cheers CVD. Think it is important that the unemotional facts are focused on. What happened yesterday will be used by the owners directors and certain media to discredit the fans protests and the organisations behind them. It will help them keep opposition to Sisu divided and to ignore any proposed alternative ownership

No it sounds right. The bodies you mention though should I believe actually make a statement regarding it and say they condemn the behaviour. If they don't the semi final is likely to spiral out of control and if they get to the final I am sure it will all go very badly.
