Sheaf is class and needs to be a mainstay. The other spot is up for grabs with a few nice combinations available. Ideally we sign an quality experienced DMC to play alongside Sheaf. Hamer has talent but i'd cash in on him and invest in some experience to help Sheaf to continue his growth.

The answer to this question is Hamer and Sheaf. I regard them both as centre midfielders rather than "defensive" centre mids though.

Not really mate. We looked better/tighter today when Allen slotted in next to Sheaf, far less space for their lot to attack.

Sheaf and Hamer are comfortably our strongest pairing. Allen and Kelly are useful backups. Hope to see Eccles stake a claim as the season goes on.

This debate has been had a few times and my answer remains the same as when people didn’t rate one of the two; Hamer and Sheaf. With the latter the superior player

I said it on the match thread, but glad to see people finally appreciating Sheaf.

We'd changed shape up top at that point. For what it's worth I like Allen in centre mid too in some games. I wouldn't read too much into today's game given the opposition.

It's Hamer and Sheaf by some distance.

Good to hear the songs ringing out for Sheaf today.

Hamer. Clearly a more complete midfielder than Kelly.

We've come off the back of 2 loses and a draw without Hamer being in there (if you include the West Brom game). Our passing football was far better and more fluid today without Kelly being in there.

Hamer is so much more front foot forward thinking.

His pass for Allen first half was sublime put it literally on a plate for him.

Kelly is out of his depth as a championship forward thinking Midfielder unfortunately.

What was the song? Sheaf has always had the ability and made no more mistakes then anyone else,

last season his issue was that his mistakes were Unfortunately punished. He’ll be a top player.

seems to have cut the mistakes out and he’s gained confidence this season
