Yep, got a first class Masters in chemistry. Back to the discussion though-I just think people are treating the club as a complete lost cause when it's not and is still worth fighting to rescue. The moment SISU leave the club has no purpose.

Some are talking about setting up Phoenix while ccfc still exists because being moved out of city, citing FC united as an example and it just dawned on me that they don't play Manchester (yes greater Manchester but that's the equivalent of the West Midlands.)

No one is treating it as a lost cause. You are either misreading or not understanding. If CCFC came back to Coventry then it will have served its main purpose. Everyone here is a CCFC fan and we all want the same thing, it is another way of applying pressure. That is not to say any new club would be disbanded, that would be up to the members at the time. One person cannot answer that.

People with money put in won't want to just say 'Job done, pack it in'. I understand the premise of the idea entirely but it seems a costly and extremely time consuming way of achieving the ultimate goal. We would honestly be better off head hunting a consortium of wealthy businessmen rather than praying for one to appear.

That's where one of my uncles went (JMU I think, not Liverpool Uni itself). I did apply but the chemistry department was...a little worse for wear
Chester FC are the new club created by fans from that dissolution. Just got back to the conference.

At any rate, anyone wanting to set up a phoenix club is now too late for 2013-14, so it gives plenty of time to see what happens over the next few months, to see if we actually do go to Northampton, and gauge what the mood of the fans is after a few months, what the results are like, how the ground share is going, what the crowds are like etc. We shall also see if SISU are serious about a new stadium.
By the time we get to January/February we will have a clearer view as to whether it is the right thing to set up a phoenix club, with enough time to set it up for 2014-15.
Maybe that's the answer, but SISU don't want to sell.
In terms of a Phoenix club, I would still support it financially and by going to games. I'm honest enough to say that if CCFC came back to Coventry I would go though.
Everyone has different opinions, nothing wrong with that. If it did happen though you should give it a try. Something quite pure about non league football. Very much like it was watching football in the 80's when I was growing up.

Yeah it is a small world. My uncle did his degree, and then phd up there and met my auntie. I did a degree in physiology and then stayed on and did a masters.
Ah right. With mine the Masters was integrated into the undergrad degree so not a separate qualification. Got a PhD to start up there in September so will have virtually no time to come down to England for games
Will be worth it in the end, I wish I'd stayed on and done a phd. Too late now though with kids, mortgage and bills to pay!!

Yes that how it seemed, but they only offered it to ltd who have no players, coaching staff, etc. apparently Appleton's legal team told ACLs on the 12 June, yet ACL have co tinted to peddle the free offer...
And it was a free offer pending £10k per match fees.

It would be better to field team this coming season, SISU would have something to consider and after all, you have spent an awful long time "waiting to see what happens next" and that has only resulted in disappointment after disappointment.
The idea is that at worse, you have your own club again just like Wimbledon. At best, CCFC returns without SISU whilst it's still at a higher league level, then you could fold the phoenix (having served it's purpose) and incorporate "1883" or whatever into the offcial CCFC name, what had happened would be a good phase in your history.
You would change the name of the club Coventry City FC that has been our name since 1898 if they returned?
