Why should it? Do whatever you like. At the end of the day there is one team that represents Coventry in my eyes and that's the Sky Blues!

Wont piss many people off... you'll just look a bit of a c*nt.

Also, if your talking about wearing a Coventry United shirt "with Pride" surely your allegiance has now changed to that club, why would you go and watch Sky Blues??

I have developed quite a strong dislike for this Coventry United outfit purely based on their circling vulture attitude towards City fans.....

...Seem very opportunistic, cashing in on our long & painful demise.....also they are potentially taking away support from Coventrys long & well established non-league outfit Sphinx....

& they wear red & are called united.....Uggh

Yep...I've definitely decided I dislike this bunch.

Agree. It's as though some people feel genuinely hurt that they don't get to walk around advertising the services of a parcel delivery company (or such like). No sponsor is fine by me.

Don't worry, they'll die as quick as they appeared! But with a few people with some slightly more lined pockets.

Dont get me wrong I would LOVE it if another club managed to establish itself in the city. Think of the rivalry!! But why didnt people get behind the Sphinx for 2/3 seasons??? I just don't like the way it was formed at the time. Someone looked to make a bit of money out of the situation in my opinion.

What a load of crap. Firstly the owners of the club are Coventry City fans who have openly said they have set the team up as they no longer wish to wath Coventry in another town. Secondly that have openly said that if the worst should happen and CCFC no longer exist they would be happy to change the name and the colours of the kit, can you imagine the stick they would have got if they called the club AFC Coventry etc and played in sky blue anyway does every club from Coventry have to play in sky blue, I wouldnt mind but they werent even CCFC's original colours. Thirdly I would rather watch United than Sphinx as they have a little ambition (a club from Coventry with ambition) well I never.

They said if CCFC die they'll consider changing name and colours? Well, that certainly puts paid to them being opportunistic vultures.

The club was set up long before it was confirmed that CCFC would not be playing in Coventry this season - so that they set it up for that reason is nonsense.

If they had called it AFC Coventry and played in Sky Blue, it was have had a lot more sympathy and support than it has.

If they did attempt to become a continuation club in the event CCFC dies, then yes, changing the club name and colours would be a must. In the meantime, while they are just another club in the city, they can call themselves what they want, and play in whatever colours they want. But while that is the case, trying to tempt disenfranchised City fans to go and watch them is a largely pointless excercise. There is nothing about that club to identify with - literally nothing, and in football identity is everything.

So how do the Sphinx lack ambition?? They have always lived within their means!! The extra gate revenue that would have been generated each home game rather than watching that Mickey Mouse team could have pushed them onto the next level. Instead we have a club playing outside Cov (which I am still supporting!!) and 2 teams who at the most will be stuck in The Midland Alliance!! 2/3 years of the extra investment could have seen Sphinx get to the Southern League or even the Conference!!

There is, at least they play the games within Coventry, the owners are CCFC fans and being able to have Ndlovu and McGrath on the back of the shirt, I would say there is a lot i identify with. I appreciate they are pulling on the heartstrings a little, but hey why not, its marketing, thats what happens in every day life.

but why did they set up a new club when we had a perfectly good one sitting 2 leagues below the football league??

Other than financial gain that is???
