We smashed Sunderland 5 - 0 in the League cup 1/4 final replay. Steve Livingstone (the original ginger ninja) scored 4. Although we were cheated out of a cup final by Pierce and Forest, was still great..........Oh happy days. :claping hands:

The biggest crime in that semi was not Hodge cheating at the free kick but Perace's challenge on Kevin Gallagher in the first leg would have been a straight red now - it was the old fashioned "let them know you're there challenge" designed to intermediate - and unfortunately it worked. We were unlucky in the second leg a couple of goal mouth scrambles with Regis coming close.

Exactly!! We said in pub before hand he would take KG out in first half, took about 2 minutes. Gally did not want to know after that. Remember cyrille hitting bar, thought he may score and forest keeper sitting on drinkell shot as well in 2nd leg!! gutted.

Fantastic to see that again. What a teamwe had, and every team hated coming to HR. Will we ever ever see games like these again, i live in hope we do, but won't put any money on it.

I don't use Youtube much as being 49 its not seen as the thing to be doing, but i will later trawl through the site for other memorable games like this one.
Well done musicdating for cheering me and others up for finding the link.

Or.....when we beat the Villa for the first time at home 2-1. What a feeling of euphoria.......followed by 4-1 away Goearge B, and the atmosphere when we won 1- 0 at Vile Park in Fa Cup. Super john Aloisi, what an atmosphere. Only to lose to sheff utd in 1/4 after replay - penalties!!!

One of the best City games I've ever been to-beating Man City 4-3 at HR in 2001.

I remember it well, the winner went in in front of the east stand and it was one of those cracking night games. Shame it was in the championship though.

In recent times the season when we were rolling teams over for fun when Eric Black was in charge. That was the last and only time I felt we were going back up.

The difference between Richardson(who we all know was a crook)and sisu(who would do exactly the same is one gave us premier league football(for many fans the best memories they'll have),the other crooks gave us league 1. I bet fans like you were lapping it up at the time.

You...are a fucking chopstick.

But anyway I'll entertain your question...Premier League football they may have given us but at what price? I would have taken a few years of re-building and to come back stronger rather than splashing cash (we didn't have) chasing a dream. Take West Brom as an example and a blueprint for any aspiring Premier League club.

Granted, SISU have been poor but they have come in off the back of 20 years of bad financial management. Which is where my point was aimed.

Fans like me

Like i said before,i bet you were lapping it up at time. Don't patronise me on what went on,i was there. Hypocrite. Sisu? I wouldn't Piss on them if they were on fire. Richardson&co,gone, history,it can't be changed. Did i like him,no not really. I'm interested in the present, under these shite owners, league 2 is possible. And don't give me this bollox about wanting to be like west brom, you,me and thousands of others wouldn't of wanted to be like west brom back then,we wanted that 34 years in the top flight to continue and didn't care where the money came from.

You make quite a lot of assumptions Valiant. You also come over as very angry. It's the internet, you can't see me and I can't hear you. Add to that your appalling lack of sense in the above post overall you're making yourself look like an idiot.

During our time in the Premier League I was a child and at the end I was 16. So overall, rather clueless about the inner workings of a football club. So whilst I was lapping it up like you lap up your fathers man love it was obviously uninformed joyous scenes.

Also WBA are a well run, stable premier league club and achieved that by not overspending and going about it like most businesses do.

We on the other hand went about our business like a Rangers fan who found five grand in the gutter.....like complete and utter fucking idiots.
