Heard he was good at breaking the play down, also good at splitting passes

£800 a week might get you a good plumber, not sure about a footballer though.

Can sort out our leaky defence then (runs to avoid rotten tomatoes)

Clearly one of those players that divides opinion, generally half a yard off the pace leaving his teammates over exposed to the counter attack.
Then runs around in ever decreasing circles, blaming the goalie when we concede and the ref cos he don't know the rules.

I'm surprised he's wearing the sponsor's logo, he doesn't usually do marketing.

When TM was looking to bring in short term loan players last January they were being offered £800 a week, I was told.

Or is it a coincidence we got Henderson, Hunt and Ramage in the window?

They were lined up before the window with view to a permanent deal.

Joe Cole came here on the back of a contract pay out of the Villa and given the clubs he played for prior money was not the issue, he wanted training and playing time to get fit for the USA.

When TM was scrapping around late January to strengthen the squad agents were getting offered £800 a week for a deal to the end of the season.

Sorry but the league avrerage wage is £1.4k PW. I just refuse to believe we only pay £800. Is Reid on £800 PW? Bigi? McCann? Turnbull jumped from a cushy number at Southampton to £800 per week? Sordell? Willis?

Perhaps your contact is misinformed or maybe mowvray had blown the budget and that was all that was left after he wasted money on lorentzson, hunt and Henderson et al? You do say it was for short term loan signings so perhaps thats was our budget for % contribution for a loan player?

We've had someone else this seasons n 'in the know' come and tell us the cap is £2k PW, which sounds much more feasible than £800, given the league average is £1.4k PW.

My belief is hardly anyone is on more than £1000 basic this season
Almost certainly be able to count on one hand if so and not including anyone signed after January 2015

We need a striker who can finish but also need midfielders who can supply them! Sordell can get goals if he gets the service

Bigi, willis, turnbull, McCann, Tudguy, jodi Jones I imagine will all be on More then £1k PW, I wouldn't be surprised if Burge and RCC, Stokes and lamieries were too, I would imagine rose will be circa that too. It will be players like DKE x2, Spence, harries, Stevenson, maycock, Thomas, etc who will be on c£500-£800 PW. Just to reiterate, the league basic (not inc. Bonuses - goals, apps, win, cleansheet, etc) is c£1.4k pa.

Well if you think about it, we signed 6 first team players after January. That means we had £4800 a week to play with. It was mowbrays choice to sign that many that were all shit on low wages. That's not taking into account signing on fees or the loans we had either. Why not sign 2 players on higher wages because we didn't need the amount of crap he signed?

I'll say it again as it's struggling to sink in.

Last January Mowbray was trying to bring in players at the end of the window, we were offering £800 a week, on the short term deal mentioned.

That's not saying players already here were on that and players signed after in the summer are on £800 on that I've no clue what the clubs wage structure is.

"Last season, average basic pay in the Championship was £324,250 per player per year, before appearance money and bonuses, while it was £69,500 in League One and £40,350 in League Two."

Feb 2016

Mind the gap... Premier League wages soar with average salaries during 2014-15 season around £1.7million as the rest creep along | Daily Mail Online

£69,500 is £1,336 PW.

According to the articuke the league two average basic is c£800 PW.

That's it then. SISU are offering £800 p/w as part of their cost cutting plan ready for life in League two.
