Lots has happened since then, a lot of bad things.

But lets live in the real world, the current side is about 12 to 18 months old.....if you can't see the positives compared to the eight years previous that is up to you.

Where is the positive though? This team isn't anywhere near as good as last seasons team. We've got more chance of being in a relegation fight this season. Oh and we might get Liquidated... Yeh, positives.

Didn't help Wigan overmuch & you only get that dosh after relegation when salaries of contracted (shit) players (that got you relegated) you can't shift will eat most of it up. That is what happened to us after relegation from the premiership, the losses and persisting salaries couldn't remotely be covered by sales even though McGinnity had a damn good try at balancing the books.

Yes, because Burnley got up and didn't overspend, and got relegated again (twice). If CCFC were in that position, you'd be screaming at their board for lack of investment or asking where all the money has gone.

What after getting promotion.... again. The Throstles are the best example. The fans love it because they know their owners will do something to get them promoted again and again. Always in the promotion hunt.

His match opinions are based on reading the Sky Blue Wall and his 'research' into wider matters consists of CT and Daily Mail articles. Anything that has happened in the last 8 years comes under one blanket 'Shit owners' and when pushed his way forward is to do exactly what we did to kick off this slide in the first place: speculate to accumulate - while pointing out a couple of one in a million shining lights of success that 'could' have been us and ignoring the other 99% that have all gone horribly wrong.
You can't reason with someone like that, they don't want a debate, they want to be agreed with - which is why it always ends in broadsides when challenged. Reminds me of the guys on the phone in that are so angry they call in to slate player X for being terrible but when questionned haven't actually been to the game.

How do you know? The season has barely begun. I am not giving SISU credit for this, but the football side of things seems within budget. Yes I see Stokes, Turnbull, Willis, RCC, Jones, Lameiras, Bigimirana, Stevenson, Sordell not as finished articles but positives....much better than Eastwood, Bell and McIndoe.

Yes as a club we are still on our arse...but we might be competitive too. 12th to 8th would do me, above that a bonus. Looking forward to supporting our own kids mistakes and all.

How many of the 5k-5.5k fans on this forum actually go to games. be interesting to find out. We could see how many are lying, because I very much doubt all go to games. That would mean out of approx 8-9k fans that go a half to two thirds post on here. Some f**kers are lying aren't they!

I don't believe I was talking to you was I? but I'll humour you. No! I'm not playing the Martyr. I'm genuinely interested in knowing if some of the "Cut me and I bleed Sky Blue Blood" fans actually go home and away games, or are just lying f**ks who are playing the "Superfan".

I go both home and away yes. Not every game but enough to make a fair judgment on the state of the team. I am not at all influenced by internet hysteria or somebody telling me we're doomed.

Joe Elliot has been involved with every failed owner of CCFC over the recent past. He's backed them all, given positive statements.

At best, his judgement is so seriously off that if he were to recommend another owner in the future, CCFC should run far far away.

He should never be allowed near any position of authority wrt the football club ever again.

As, indeed, should none of the protagonists who've been involved since about 2001.

The baggies I know hate the fact that they're now managed by Pulis - and they're managed by Pulis to prevent them getting relegated.

But I support CCFC that is why I'm on a CCFC forum writing and supporting CCFC. Why should I take off my "sky blue tinted specs". You're one of those fans who really excuse anything any one does to the club...apart from the owners...That's why we're different. I know we don't live in an ideal world, I know councillors are politicians and do stupid things constantly and mark my words their decisions over Wasps and the Ricoh will be the stupidest of the lot.

You live in your world and I'll live in mine.

Would you say that you have an open minded view on the world, or is everything black and white?

You say that 'I am one of those fans' who'll excuse everyone but our owners, yet in my post that you answered I say that the council are partly to blame. Fuck me, they're not just sky blue blue tinted specs but completely miss out what people actually say type specs. I think you should take them off Torch, it's a whole new world out there kid.

The fact is that we all live in the same world, well most of us but it's just how we see things and opinions are like arseholes........we all have one.

How do you know that the councils decision will be their most stupid ever? What proof or fact do you have? You see, a lot of people on here are glass half empty and while our current and recent situation has been terrible. No one can guarantee what will happen in the future. What if our owners finally decide that enough is enough and do fuck off, sell us to decent owners who the council are willing to do business with and then we build our own ground in Coventry away from the umbrella of Wasps and we prosper. You see, then the city will have a up and coming football team, an established home grown rugby team and a Premiership rugby team. You see if that played out then I would argue that what the council did has benefited the city, not so much the football club but the city as a whole and the potential additional revenue that it would bring. The opposite might happen and things get worse but I'm hoping that things get better.

We are putting together a great crop of youngsters. They might need a season or two but it is the way to go.
Players who the badge might mean something too.

To get rid of SISU we need to owe as little as possible to them. We have to live within our means. We can only realistically grow by expanding our means.

Remind me again Hobo how many seasons our last promising you players like Wilson and Maddison had?

Sadly we are a selling club like most and as soon as any of our new young crop show promise they will be sold.

Oh and 'the badge' will mean nothing at all to most players, not just ours.

So someone that is realistic with an honest opinion has an invalid comment to one that wears Rose coloured specs... Very mature comment, I'm sure.

All clubs and certainly at this level can have their best players picked off. It has always happened and always will. What I am talking about is a good mix of decent youngsters (not world beaters). So hopefully players and club will move forward together. So we are perhaps looking for 2 or 3 each summer rather than 10.
