Did you not read my post? Not once did I say it was all Sisu's fault, I said they were at least AS responsible as previous owners, but moving us away alienated everybody. This was Sisu's decision, there had to be a better option but playing hardball is their game, quotes of being the only show in town etc did nothing but piss people off from all sides but most importantly the fans, it caused a rift in our fan base that will take years to repair and they didn't do it for us they did it for themselves! We would as a club still have ended up paying through the nose to play in our home. The reason the stadium deal is where it is now is down to Richardson and co desperately moving away from Highfield Road and not having the business nous to negotiate a better deal.
I am not condoing SISU in any way, shape or form in witholding the rent or moving to Northampton as that was a big factor to alienating the fans. However the Council should've done more to help the club get back to playing in Coventry. So what do they do, they bring a club 90 miles away after of course suing Northampton for allowing Coventry to play at Sixfields for a season. Oh and allowing the franchise team to build on the AHC land for their 'barn' or whatever they are wanting to build despite identifying 17 sites.

As for the council and wasps.....I hate them all, wasps for buying our home and the council for selling it to them, but when I take off my sky blue glasses I can see why they did it, and that doesn't mean I agree with it just that I can see why.
And this is where it becomes a problem for me, the "I hate Wasps but I see why the Council sold to them". argument. I don't. I genuinely don't see why they did it.
SISU aren't going to be here forever. One day they will leave and the Council should have waited for that day. The most important things in this sorry saga are the football club - you know the team that have been here for 133 years - and the Ricoh, the stadium that was built FOR the club.
The Ricoh was apparently a success and was doing fine. The Club were moving back from Sixfields and the Council said we had to build bridges before ownership of the stadium was discussed. Despite saying this publicly they'd already agreed a deal with the Franchise, but hey I digress. Now, they didn't want to sell to SISU, fair enough, that's up to them, so agree a long term deal with a rent that sustains the football club and the stadium. Once, SISU fuck off then start talks with the new owners.
But no, they give Wasps a whopping 250 year lease - that is effectively forever, hamstringing the club and the shafting the fans in one swift movement. Not the fans fault who owns the club and not the clubs fault either, but out of petty spite, 130 years of history was flushed down the toilet.
And because of those ridiculous decisions the club is still owned by SISU with ZERO prospect of being taken over by another owner. What is there to sell? What assets are there to attract a potential investor who knows that Wasps effectively own everything until 2264. There are loads of clubs more attractive already.
What did genuinely make me laugh was all the hysterical cries of "don't sell to SISU they just mortgage the stadium" and what did Wasps do within months? Brilliant.
Anyway, hopefully we'll leave the Ricoh one day to Wasps and we can have our own purpose built stadium somewhere in the city. Fantasy? Maybe, but better than a slow death at the Ricoh.

Then what happens if it fails? People want their money back etc.So easy, forest owners have spent £68m in 4 years, have a £30m wage bill (circa x3 our entire turnover if we ever got to the championship), and are still no nearer the PL.
Throwing money doesnt guarantee success.

Lets quickly deal with Wasps. They are the same as Sisu apart from the fact they seem to be able to take care of business. They saw an opportunity as businessmen and took it and to this point that decision seems to have been a success. If you were in business like they are, you would have done the same. But you're not. You only work in sales and PR for the Observer.
Onto the council and this is where you really become naive. Council are politicians and what do you really expect? Politicians tell us all the time that they are thinking about the best interests of the people they are supposed to be representing. But what we actually know is something completely different. How many of the cities population actually actively support the club, a very small percentage and why would the council think about us first before everything else that goes on in the city. There is plenty of things around the world where governments and countries far bigger and more important than little old Coventry are willing to let races, civilisations, animals and the climate go to shit so the absolute outrage on here about Coventry makes me chuckle at times. The council are partly to blame for where we are but when we take off the sky blue tinted specs, should we expect politicians in Coventry to be any different to elsewhere? They do not have a direct responsibility to CCFC and CCFC alone. Our owners on the other hand do............
