Tell me you like Kylie Minogue a bit too much without telling me. Was it your first dance or something?
Come on mate, I’ve seen your contributions on the ‘what are you currently listening to’ thread. If you ain’t got a ‘Kylie Bangers’* Spotify playlist I’d be amazed.

*they’re all bangers!

Yeah, but only her early stuff and Danni's better.

Some good mentions but I'd probably choose an Abba song for best pop. Dancing Queen I think edges it, but could be one of many.

Was just going to say that no-one will ever top Abba when it comes to crafting a perfect pure-pop tune. That Madonna track up there references them heavily.

Take a Chance is the one for me.

For something more modern, Poker Face is a glorious slab of dirty electro pop.

References is an understatement, it takes the main hook!

Think it was one of only a couple of cases where Abba have approved a sample of one of their songs to be used by someone else.

Talking of lyrics…

Not that this is a massive issue, but noticed this the other day on scoreboard - first line - it said “you spend your time in smoky rooms where haggled old women with cheap perfume” - which is what the lyrics are online.

now the original official video that looks like what Tom sings, but since then in live performances he says ‘haggard’ and that’s what I’ve always sung/thought it would be?

which makes so much more sense….. surely that’s what it should be? What’s a haggled old woman?
can’t find the old CD to see what it says in the booklet.
just feel like if it’s gonna be sung, it should be sung correctly.
On a similar note, on a televised game the other day I saw someone singing LAST and when it says ‘Tottenham’, it looked like she sang “TopNam” 🤷🏻‍♂️

All the lyrics links say haggled but agree I think The Enemy just used the wrong word. Unless it’s old prostitutes.

Me too and I still do. Until your post I've never noticed before that it was haggled. In fact I've noticed I say the next bit wrong too as I always sing 'wearing' cheap perfume rather than 'with'
