Been listening all day to discussions on various radio stations on the possible ramifications of yesterdays developments regarding the Hillsborough disaster. It is pretty clear the families are going to pursue all at fault. Apart from the obvious it looks like Sheffield Wednesday and Sheffield council are right in the firing line and not just for the Liverpool match. There had been no safety certificate issues for the ground since 1981, there has been fans injured at the Spurs-Wolves semi of that year and our semi with Leeds 1987 and the semi in 1988 with Liverpool-Forest. Some lawyer said that any fan with medical evidence that they had been injured in that Leppings Lane terrace could have grounds to sue for comensation from both the club and the council and thats going back to 1981, so along with the 96, the 700 odd injured plus any from those other semi's it's going to be a costly time. Those involved in not implementing a safety certificate and then allowing the match to proceed could face corporate man slaughter charges.
Going to be a lot of grey haired pensioners in jail.

so why did the FA hold the semis there if there were no safety certificates?

unfortunately no amount of compensation brings back loved ones.
