We hear comments of liquidation, bullshit statements from fisher etc!
If we are going to stand any chance of coming straight back up from division 3 then Sisu need to be planning now. Nothing is happening other than patronising statements?
The takeover is not happening as a division 3 team not owning their ground is not a good investment.
As a result I suspect we may be having these discussions when the season is about to start.
So why dont we form Afc Coventry with Hoffman and Elliott setting it up as they certainly have the business experience.
The club could follow the German and Afc Wimbledon model whereby the fans will always own 51% of the club so that we do not allow these people to come in and leave us in the sh1t when there is not the instant success. I for one would go and support them, and I guess a lot of other fans would.
We could play at Nuneaton or the Butts and put 2 fingers up to the Ricoh.
So come on Joe and Gary how about it?

I did suggest that for one game maybe a load of us could go and watch Cov Sphinx, just to show the power we can wield and many others could simply boycott.

Someone said on another post that Port Vale forced their owners out by simply not buying season tickets and starving the club of revenue.

Without fans there is no club. Could certainly be drawn up as an option and with enough support could show the owners that the fans mean business!

I'm not saying let's do it, but the very threat of doing it and support from the City fans in agreeing that it potentially could happen might make a difference. Brinksmanship!

I cannot respond constructively to nonsense. On the one hand you want to "create" AFC Coventry and play on some parkland in Nuneaton. Then you say protest against liquidation...surely liquidation is what you want so we can have AFC Coventry with good old Bobby and Keys on the board. Look I respect your opinions but where is the threat. The club would have to start at least 4 levels below the blue square so would smaller than bedworth, Atherstone etc. There is no ground and no one would want to watch let alone invest.

AFC Coventry will remove all our history and everything that binds the supporters to the club. However deep we slip down the leagues.

You really believe sisu would take any notice of headlines in that direction? I don't think they will even blink for a second.
They will just go on in their efforts to make the club self-sustainable as this is the only way they can ever hope to sell the club and regain a fraction of their investors money.

All this 'sisu threaten to liquidate the club' started with a Keys tweet. He didn't name a source. Then Mr. Mutton said something in the same mold - he didn't name a source either (it could easily be Keys tweet). Finally Keys tweet again that the council have now confirmed that sisu have threaten to liquidate the club. And suddenly everybody believes it to be true ... still nobody have asked sisu (journalists where are you) so in truth we don't know and cannot yet make any argument that take Keys tweet as fact.

Because unless you actually form it and start playing then it is no threat at all. Love the arrogance of some CCFC fans - we will just walk into the Butts and take over, sorry ground share. Pitch will be awful for football, it hasnt the parking for the fans you hope for or the seating, oh and Coventry RFU might not welcome it. The council might not licence it and the leagues may not either. It will take a lot of time and effort let alone money and if not successful will quickly flounder imo. Or shall we go to Nuneaton ? sure they will gladly stand aside for us. This isnt CCFC going in there it is a small newly formed uncertain non league team that apparently was only set up to force SISU out going in to someone elses ground very much as the junior club in the arrangement. Good luck with that.

Personally there is only one team for me - it isnt about SISU, GH, JE or even Keys - my team is Coventry City FC always has been and finances willing always will be.

That said if I want to watch a proper football match with passion skill endeavour grit enjoyment etc and to feel involved and part of it - i go watch my lad and his team play (he is 14).

I think the idea needed airing and I applaud that but sorry it doesnt work for me

And Godiva, where did I say it's not okay for Sisu to make a threat but it's okay for the fans to? I haven't said at all. Neither is okay, but my point is they aren't the only ones who are able to make threats and carry them out.

If we all did - say 9000 of us last year that would be the salary of 1 very very decent or 2 or 3 players at league 1 level. This way we would all become very minor stake holders in the club. £1 a month is an amount most season ticket holders could afford I would think. I know people will say that is what the ticket money is for but there are a lot of non player costs - this would be ring fenced money to be spent on players wages only and we might feel we own a bit of the club. So liquidation probably won't happen, in spite of Richard Keys saying it is the most likely outcome at present, but still, wouldn't it be worth at least ideas being bounded about on here about drawing up some sort of contingency plan in terms of an AFC Coventry and starting from scratch in case it ever does?

Or would fans just rather wait until it happens and then try and pick up the pieces from there? Or do people just think it is brinksmanship and will never get to that stage?

Just think if people think it is a possiblity, no matter how small, that it is worth at least discussing a way forward if CCFC in its present form ceases to exist.

If some prominent people started to talk seriously about forming a new club Sisu might start to panic and we might have some action.
I feel we are just drifting, and if its true sisu are broke then all that will happen will be more players sold etc.
