I mentioned this on another post.

People are talking about a protest at the Ricoh on the first home game in August.

Why not get the Ricoh to stage an old boys XI vs old boys XI, open up the Ricoh, charge a small fee to cover costs £3ish.

I'm sure you would get a few thousand, it will get publicity for sure.

the bomb squad could play, they're not going to be doing much on match days!

I really think this is the best way to go in terms of a mass protest. We could plan a time in which people could organise themselves around work. See if bus company's will help the hard part will be acl allowing us to do it, but how to contact them can the trust help?? I believe if we got an attendence of 16,000 it would be A brilliant press day, we could ask all fans to come support us, if we filled the stadium it would be immense. £2 entry money to the trust and acl for cost coverage of policing and stewards,

Sounds a great idea. Not sure if ACL would be up for it though until various legal things are sorted. SISU seem to be hiding behind the 'we've been thrown out and the doors are locked' excuse whereas ACL seem to be reiterating that the Ricoh is open to CCFC with free rent (at least while we're still in admin). If they organise a game there on a 'home game' day, SISU could potentially use it to 'prove' the doors are locked to them.
If we do end up at Northampton (or wherever), it would be nice if ACL could organise something though for the fans.

I'd just like to say this is a fantastic idea, the media would be all over it, I'm sure you'd get a higher attendance than our actual home game !

And if someone happened to score 3 goals we could say it was a geri-hattrick!!! Think about it! Geri-hattrick/geriatric*! LOL!!!

(*A geriatric is an elderly person and a hattrick is 3 goals; I've amalgamated the two words!)

Fantastic idea. Sure we could get ACL and the former players association (unless they are tied to the club - if so, may need to find ex players outside the FPA) on board. Maybe charge £5 to £10 with profits after ACLs costs and kit costs going to charity.

Don't we have a supporters team? Maybe FPA vs Supporters.

10th August not far away so need to get cracking on arranging this. Anyone have any contacts for ACL? Does PWKH still come on here occasionally? Not seen him in a while.

A great idea. I would travel from Dorset for that. It would make a fantastic statement if, say, 20,000 (probably completely pie in the sky...) turned up for that with only 2,000 'home' fans turning up at Northampton on the same day.

I think Deano is the man to speak to, he is down with all the former players...

There is another thread discussing the same thing. Although that one seems to be suggesting getting together to listen to the radio.

I'd rather listen to the game
Although this may be a decent idea, I'm still focusing on the team.

Could Peter Waterman not pull in some favours as well and get some of his old artistes to perform on a simple stage constructed either in the main stand or on the pitch?

Maybe some of our 'celebrity' fans could also play? The bloke from Corrie, The Enemy, Richard Keys etc

Mentioned this to my Dad (who's on the Trust board) and said it would be good to see if we can get a FPA XI Vs a fans XI.

Will we be playing August 10th? Northampton are home that day too.

Should be a day we are guaranteed to be playing a home game at 3pm on a Saturday.

Maybe. We need to get the trust involved to organise this. Love them or hate them, they have the contacts to make this happen.

Brilliant idea. Would love this. Don't know how to make it happen admittedly, but I would want to support it. For me, an Old Boys versus a mix of celeb fans and other fans would be fantastic.

Get Lord Sillett to address the fans and manage one of the teams as well. That would get the passions stirring.

I wonder if the Sky Blue Belles would fancy a comeback?

Although it makes more of a point if it coincides with the first 'home' game, regardless of when it is.

Why not do both, match kicks off at 1pm then after live commentary of SISU FC v Bristol thatwould maximise the media coverage as they would see a full stadium with no players on the pitch just a commentary and empty stands at Northampton.

Sillett managing one team, Bobby Gould the other, get the likes of Hucks, Dion playing would be a great day out!
