By some of the players. On Saturday and today I think too many players either bottled it or went missing, and in that I probably include

Keogh
Norwood
Shef
Platt today
Nimely sat
Clarke sat

I know there are young players there, and I can forgive them. But I think we've either totally ran out of steam or some of those senior players need to look at the last two games and admit they weren't at it.

So disappointing after giving ourselves a great chance

I agree , Nimely has flattered to deceive, after a great goal scoring debut and winning the pens against Leeds, their isn't much else of note
Shef drifts in and out of games, scores the odd goal then goes missing again.
Deegan contributes next to nothing

I disagree with the others, Keogh has been magnificent, Norwood clearly has great ability and a good range of passing, Clarke still learning his trade but has contributed a number of assists in a short period of time and a quality goal, and Platt is a good target man and clearly the only one of his type at the club

All the Best

Keogh has been magnificent! My beef with those players is over the last two games. When it really mattered I think they - for some reason - went missing

Agreed. Deegan isn't a footballer and should give up the game. Offers nothing. Nimley is a better player than McDonald but Nimley cant score goals.

Think the inclusion of keogh and norwood is harsh-keogh always gives 100% as does norwood who admittedly had his worse game today (having set his standards so high probably makes it more noticeable) but put in some stunning balls on Saturday- wish i could argue more strongly for the others you named as they represent our club but sadly have to concede some players don't appear to care about our club as much as they should -now prove us wrong and keep us up

How many goals has Deegan scored compared to the rest of our midfield?

How you can say that Clarke bottled it/didnt show up on Saturday I dont know??? were you even there??? he was one of the best players on the pitch, set up the first goal and won the penalty for the second! not only that but he consistently dragged the play wider rather than being sucked into the middle of the park. His first touch and control was sublime the whole match. You are deluded pal.

Clarke was superb and is a major factor in our revival. The "critic" is a moron.

I'm with you on this one, I just don't see what he brings to the table, starting with Deegan just shows how low we have fallen as a club.

Norwood? Clarke?

Those 2 were responsible for our goals on Saturday.

Some people will blame anyone and everyone but Thorn. In years to come people will shake their heads and wonder why.

I am still wet from being in Drizzle Brizzle and pissed off with the fact we are all but relegated. One of the many games I have taken in this season, but probably the most disappointed I have been. If someone states their opinion (that Bell / Baker / whoever is not good enough), you do not have to immediately hijack it by stating that Andy Thorn scouted them and is responsible. It is a combination of factors, but let's not dismiss the fact that the players named need to take some culpability.

I molested a child as a vicar... God's fault.

Bullshit.

There are agendas to be had, but a little bit of 'sit back and be reasonable' should prevent this from being 'all Thorn's fault' vs. 'not at all Thorn's fault'.

The game plan, yet again, was 'lump it up to Platt and see what happens'-it was awful stuff to see. What compounded it was Bristol's wingers taking our full backs on for fun whilst in return we hoofed down the side for Platt to chase lost causes. When we played on the floor it was in our own third of the pitch simply to set up another hoof from Keogh or Cranie; poor football and it deserved all it got.

Deegan has somehow managed to fool the CCFC management he can play football. He can;t, I would kick him out of Ryton given the chance.

It's not all Thorn's fault. I agree that improvement has been apparent since the turn of the year. However the notion that none of it is his fault is equally absurd and this is a notion shared by many on here.

I think we argue the same points from only just either side of the 'pro / anti Thorn' divide. I don't think he is blameless for a second. I do think he gets unwarranted stick. The only people to leave the ground from a Coventry persuasion with any credit are the fans.

Thorn takes shit left right and centre.
If he keeps us up he should win manager of the year, he is a candidate just from keeping us off the bottom of the league and putting us in a position where safety is even a possibility. Critics say he is too late in making changes but when all season has he had quality on the bench that you could see making a difference? He was forced to sell our best striker in January and Lost Marlon in the summer along with the rest of the 'spine' of the team. He has been left with below average throughout the squad and has been forced to let kids play in a league where experience is key.
His tactics are criticized as well, the diamond won us a considerable amount of points at the end of last season. Not only that but it is the only formation that works with the players we have. We criticized Boothroyd for the long ball and boring football but then people jump on Thorn for encouraging players to pass the ball around and sometimes the best route forward is to go backwards or sideways.
As you can tell I am incredibly pro-Thorn and people who blame him for the state we are in really 'grind my gears' to say the least.

Three goals better than the other midfielders. Goals that have given us points. We're in the mire because other more supposed gifted players like our captain have been ineffectual for the majority of the season. Deegan isn't gifted, but he's done better than most of his counterparts.

Good point, well made and can't argue with that, I just feel Deegan simply isn't good enough. Only my opinion though

I agree, why Deegan has suddenly become a scapegoat puzzles me. He's OK. Excluding penalties and free-kicks how many does Clingan get? Deegan will be OK in League 1.

Think I've been Mis-understood by some.

Keogh, Clarke and Norwood have been instrumental in our revival. Keogh is my player of the season by a long way.

But on Saturday and today he was below his usual standard. Norwood and Clarke had decent first halves on say but since then not so good. I'm talking about Saturday and today only. But they were two games we needed to win and we didn't.

I agree about the tactics today. Everything bounced off platt and thought it would have been better to swap nimely for him and start keeping it on the floor. I blame thorn for that.

For Deegan read Michael Doyle. He had an ~ alright game today. In recent weeks, his distribution has been awful. Because he doesn't have the technical ability, he is going to be one of those divisive players who is either 'shit' or 'wears his heart on his sleeve'. Not the sort of player I would want to build the team around and I wouldn't be despondent if he left. Is he therefore toss? No.

Deegan's an honest professional and can hold his head up a lot more than Clingan-who has looked totally disinterested all season long, but for an isolated few patches of quality. Disgrace of a captain.
