....even if that has the side-effect of hurting the club.

The City of Coventry and Coventry City Council needs the Ricoh Arena.

I'm not convinced that Coventry City Football Club needs SISU.

As a Coventry taxpayer, I don't want SISU anywhere near what is a fantastic, award-winning facility for Coventry.

So, if anyone from the council is reading this and is against dealing with SISU, then:

  1. I can't blame you, and
  2. You have my full support

I'll second that, I'm sure if SISU did end up with 50% of the ground they would drop the team in seconds. I'm sure the only reason they invested in the club was to get their hands on the ground.

But does Coventry City Council need/want a football club?? To me it seems like they dont!

Didn't the Council bail CCFC out of the crapper by building the Arena?

They have to put taxpayers first. Only 15,000 are watching yet another relegation battle from a City of 330,000.

i wounder how much the football club in a season puts into the economy of the city of Coventry?? I bet it puts in a fair amount over the season! No football club would have an impact on the council who bullied the club into agreeing a deal which is killing it!!!

Compare it to Hulls situation where they get all income on match days shows the current situation isnt and wont ever work out best for the club!!! You also say 15,000, 4 seasons ago see what the average attendance was, the fan base is there just needs something to cheer about!!!

Eh?

We got relegated with clipping debts; Sold off the old ground before building work started on the new one; And even sold off our 50% share.

At what point did CCFC get bullied by the council???

Self inflicted wounds.

That's SISU's job.

Its their job to make the team able to compete, and good enough to get the fans in. They've failed. Nothing to do with the Council.
