I heard it was all agreed and he and Peter Taylor were due back in Coventry the next
Morning to sign, was then contacted about Forest that night and politely dropped us.
We were a very similar club to Forest and Derby At the time, so you really do have to
Wonder what might have been.

He didn't join forest until a year after leaving Derby did he?

No it wasn't. He immediately after agreeing a deal went to the Derby chairman and asked for a pay rise which he duly got. He didn't even join forest when he eventually left Derby 12 months after we tried to get him.

Yes he was. when he realised he was finished at Derby , he thought, i'll go to their rivals then . typical cloughie mentality .

He had no intention of joining the club he just used us to get a pay rise. Robins then withdrew the offer and appointed Milne after Dennison caretakered for a while.

This is a great Clough story for anyone who hasn't heard it. Well worth investing the time in this one.
