No I don't think he would be a top earner but think someone would pick him up due to the hype and the whole Liverpool thing.

I don't think he is a great player Liverpool worked that out.

I think he is a ok player. He will be good in league one.
He won't set the world alight.

I think like you say his strength should be as a defensive midfielder. If he is coached and specialised into that, maybe his athleticism will make him very good in that role.

I just think bailey is still young he is already where we would like Thomas to get to. If letting Thomas go helped us get bailey for the rest of the season then so be it.

I feel if we don't go up this year then the shit will really hit the fan

Why sell thomas and only have bailey for the rest of this season? it wouldn't be smart as if we don't go up this season what then? Bailey won't sign for us then surely?

Yes he took him off after 46 minutes.
MR had his right hand man at tranmere as well when Hussey had a shocker.

Unfortunately I think we have to think a bit short term.
My gut instinct tells me SISU made those signings this summer as the final throw I'd the dice to go straight up.

Going short term is the worst possible approach possible thats the reason sheffield united got relegated. The season they went down their team had like 13 loan players in it :O we have to buy players.

Sticking with two defensive midfielders. Thomas can play that role as well as attack yes see your point. Has moussa not successfully done both roles.

No not successfully, he looked poor when he played there. He has improved since moving more advanced

I saw him play there like 3-4 times and he was awful in CDM and just couldn't play there. However when moved further up the pitch he was so much better.

Based on him.....

So far this season Fleck has played in a variety of roles across the Sky Blues' midfield, something he is happy to continue with.

He added: "I'll play anywhere for the manager to be honest.

"I feel comfortable in any of the positions across the midfield. Growing up I used to play in central midfield behind the strikers, but I don't really mind to be honest.

"It just depends on the type of formation the gaffer wants to play and I just need to get on with it.

Fair dues, he was the back up idea for me behind bailey and Jennings. However if he is shite there then maybe we do need Thomas.

Personally I thought he was solid. He had a lot of energy and broke up a lot of plays.

However I accept the point that if we stick with two DM's get an injury to one of them moussa drops back.
We will lose the attacking impetus he gives us.

Central role behind the strikers isn't an orthodox central midfield or defensive midfield, it's attacking midfielder like it he tip of the diamond. In fact Fleck has been poor in most of games he's played in apart from his set pieces.

Fleck centre mid Would be an absolute disaster

I think this was a do or bust season which is why they signed 16 players and panicked and sacked a manager after 4 games.

Yes I'm sure that fleck would be a disaster in central midfield role. Play offs? The impossible is looking possible but that depends on what happens in the January transfer market. I think you should waiting until the seasons finished and we're finished in the play offs before saying I told you so.

maybe you should have waited before you dismissed the playoffs?

i said playoffs were possible, you said we didnt have a chance, dont matter what happens at end of season, right now the table clearly shows it is not impossible.

To be fair he has said that about most of the fringe players including Hussey so I wouldn't read too much into it.

Was the crux of your opinion that we couldn't based on,was it what will happen in January?

Or was it stat based like others that we could not win the amount of games we just have.

I genuinely can't remember I remember most who poo poo'ed it was because of the points it would require.

Some one said no because of losing players in January.

Grendel said no as the squad was only fit for a relegation battle and all the signings are not good enough for league one apart from Murphy.

Not really, the table now just shows the ebb and flow of teams differing form on the league table. We could lose on Saturday and find ourselves 10 points from play offs.

To be fair 7 points from play offs does show it is not mission impossible.

Several people said due to the point gap it is not possible, I don't know if you were one of them.
He is right that it is now very possible and form would suggest more likely than unlikely

No, I like Otis said that the points gap was too much, my actually prediction was 10-12th, there's a lot more posters who predicted lower than me.

However, we are moving on the right direction, playing with confidence and scoring goals. I now think that the transfer window will have a big impact on whether we will be able to continue this momentum or not.

You mention the signings - only Edge and Jennings out of the 9 summer signings are actually good enough to get in the starting 11, and 4 of the 10 outfield players have been brought in by Robins those 4 signings have been integral to the upturn in form.

for anyone to write us off in october was just shocking

It wasn't necessarily the points gap, the need to get 72 points in total, and to sustain an average of about 2 points per game for the rest of the season. We still have a whole half of the season to go.

Without mcgoldrick, Adams, moussa and bailey we would be a bottom 6 side.

if baker and jennigns can improve why cant likes of macdnald, hussey and thomas(not improve but get some form in his case).

give robins a chance, hes drafted great laons and im desperate for them to stay but if they go we are still better than bottom 6.
