Spoke to a few people in Sarasota and they said it was intense when the eye wall went by.... 4mph winds for 30-40 minutes in the eye, but the back side of the eye wall was (in their words) "Fucking scary"
They mostly have pool screens out or down but everyone is ok.
The whole region is without power.
Not looking forward to the videos and pictures at day light..
Really not sure if this is real or not, but saw this on fb from Palm Gardens near Fort Lauderdale, where a tornado hit..

The Neighbourhood is a mess. Poor guy down the street has an oak tree in his house now. There’s roof shingles, trees and fencing down and tree debris everywhere. We’re very lucky. Our daughter’s arent. One had water come in and the other now doesn’t have a screened in patio anymore.

Good question I would have asked too. I have a deep fascination with weather and climate, but I think this fascination gives you a healthy humbling respect for nature.I have to ask, did the eye of the storm go over you?
If so, what was it like?
We’re good.. consider ourselves very lucky in amongst a lot of unfortunate people around us who have a lot of damage.I'm assuming @usskyblue is safe and sound??
