Only a category 3? Looks way more intense.
Interesting view from the satellite

Also, avoid incorrect information.

Have had my TV glued to weather channel all day on your behalf @@usskyblue
Milton only moving about 10 mph they say so looks like it's keeping on pounding your Tampa area for hours still. Be safe.
Thanks for your update, I assumed you had lost power a while ago.

Looks like our old house in Palm Harbor is bang in the middle of it. Was a mandatory evacuation area.

Spoke to a few people in Sarasota and they said it was intense when the eye wall went by.... 4mph winds for 30-40 minutes in the eye, but the back side of the eye wall was (in their words) "Fucking scary"

They mostly have pool screens out or down but everyone is ok.
The whole region is without power.

Not looking forward to the videos and pictures at day light..

Really not sure if this is real or not, but saw this on fb from Palm Gardens near Fort Lauderdale, where a tornado hit..

Pretty sure that's real, I saw this one about it last night:

I saw there was an absolutely freaking huge wedge on the ground at one point too.

I hafta imagine he's most likely without power or Internet service still. Looks like a half million or so are still without power since last evening according to the utilities website just now

The Neighbourhood is a mess. Poor guy down the street has an oak tree in his house now. There’s roof shingles, trees and fencing down and tree debris everywhere. We’re very lucky. Our daughter’s arent. One had water come in and the other now doesn’t have a screened in patio anymore.

Let's hope insurance covers this sort of weather event.

I have to ask, did the eye of the storm go over you?

If so, what was it like?

Glad to have you back and safe from injury for not only yourself but your loved ones. The property damage is a bummer, sorry. Hope you all are able to get things fixed up in as quick and painless as possible with minimal inconvenience.

I wish it did, at least it would’ve provided a brief break. It passed just under us, so we got the eye wall as it approached and then as it went by. Took this off my weather radar app. Our location is just above the eye..

Good question I would have asked too. I have a deep fascination with weather and climate, but I think this fascination gives you a healthy humbling respect for nature.

Glad to hear our posters based in Florida are as alright as you can be after such an event!

5ft storm surge at our house south of Naples.
Sandbags and plastic sheeting helped stop it just short of the door sills so we dodged huge bullet.
Feel for the people further up the coast who were hit hard.

We’re good.. consider ourselves very lucky in amongst a lot of unfortunate people around us who have a lot of damage.
