Many of the ratings here just show how accustomed we have become to being the best team in the league. We have just secured a draw and a clean sheet away to a side sitting comfortably in the play offs. We gave as good as we got for most of the game. And because we didn't blow them away many have awarded 4s.

In a different season the same performance would have been 7s and 8s and praise for a gritty and determined show.

Not quite sure what's happened with Torp. He just hasn't been the same player for quite a while now.

Been pretty average every time he pulls the shirt on lately.
I think the illness he had over winter hit him pretty hard.

Agree - it must be something like that. He was so effective early season - it's clearly not down to his ability that there's been a drop off. On a side note, although he was slightly off it last night, you could see how important Onyeka is to us. He always seems to be in the right position to find a pass or break up play in the middle of the park. He got caught on the ball, and his passing was a bit off last night, but his positioning and general self assurance is so important to us. Nice if we can pick up a younger version of him in the summer for next season, as support/cover/the future.

Unfortunately bar one purple patch of goals, Torp has been very inconsistent. He had great technical ability and knows where the net is. But he’s not mobile or quick enough to play in any midfield role. His good performances at the start of the season weren’t that really - they were masked by his goals.

Whilst agree to degree, think that’s a little harsh.

he’s very good technical player, he drifts in and out too much which is his weakness, along with mobility. But a very good championship midfielder in right team.

he was far more aggressive an mobile early in season, along with goals meant he was one of best in division for few months.

Saka gets kicked from pillar to post most weeks, his body must be in bits after every game. But he gets up as soon as hes able to and gets on with being one of our best players. He must be inline for player of the season, what a guy

Torp really didn’t work for me as a number 10 and Wright isolated because of it. Simms brought a bit more urgency and Rudi drifting linked play for a while but then fizzled out. Saka unplayable at times but spent most of the game defending, EMC good in patches. Kitch improved on recent performances. MOM a tie between Lati and Grimes for me. Plenty of solid performances but not many I’d rate above a 6.5 to 7 hence not assigning individual scores. Highlighted again for me how aside from somehow trying to sign Rushworth, getting a centre forward in had to be the number 1 priority for next season.

Kitching and Lati did excellent defensively last night, but we missed Thomas as much in their box as we did our own. We won nothing in the air and MVE's throw ins were even more pointless than usual.

Torp didn't play very well last night, the Hull press meant we kept going long too often and when we did get into the midfield, it was often too congested. It also didn't help that Wright didn't hold the ball up at all, so there was no one to play off. It's easy to have a pop at Torp, but he wasn't the only one that was poor last night, in possession we were pretty poor especially in the first half.

I'd also add that Rudi struggled to impose himself in the 10 when he came on too. Which shows how difficult it was in there.

I gave Torp a 5, but I'm not writing him off after one game, in a very difficult tight game.

We kept putting in long throws against their massive team. It was bonkers.

If it is, he will leave for £5m +, having arrived for half of that. He was on fire at the start of the season and was playing out of position yesterday after not playing much recently. He will enrich the midfield of most championship sides.
And his wages covered whilst he was here, good business, sold £7-8M.

Don’t get why we insist on the long throws when MVE is as knackered as he was in the late second half. It becomes a liability if anything

Yeah, but for me, it's not just one game. I rate the guy, but I don't think he's played well for a while now.
