I can't believe that opponents don't look for this stuff - you can then adjust your team accordingly. Thomas is a big loss, but he’s also not entirely foolproof. He’s prone to errors and poor distribution, so let’s not escalate this to feel like we’ve lost prime Maldini. Lati is a step down, but he’s a solid enough defender and he’s entirely committed so he’ll give a good account of himself.
The starting XI is more than strong enough to win and the bench isn’t as weak as made out, Allen, Paterson, Bassette and Rafa can all change games. Granted to differing degrees, but this is still a step above our play off season bench offensively.
