He sits deep and dictates the tempo, very much likes cross field passing (switching the play) and frequent attempts at Champagne passes. Will chip in with a handful of long range efforts i'd have thought. Is supposed to have a great free kick, but, never demonstrated that with us.

Better than Aron Gunnarsson in my opinion (the last good centre mid prospect we had)

All round top player. We were awful then he came and our form got better. Good at going forward but will get a tackle in

A player that will spread a ball 40 yards. He will score and create goals.

Would definitely fit a playmaking role more than anything. Doesn't tend to get stuck in, but is creative and technically able-should get better yet with regular football.

He's a passing player. We'd all probably have loved to see him come back to us here. Sitting around the centre circle mark he'll wow you with balls over the top, splitting the defence or spreading the play one minute, but was prone to be a little too ambitious at times and give the ball away (albeit that may be done to the rest of our considerable poor squads staticness). Can also take a good free kick, although this wasn't experienced while he was with us, but youtube footage shows some Beckham like strike for Northern Ireland. Although fairly young, never seemed to get outmuscled and he has a calm head. Defensively capable of tracking back and tackling but would question his positioning defensively. A good sign for you, obviously hoping you still have momentum becuase in my opinion he will be capable of premiership football very soon. Good luck to you.

Surely we need to go after some realistic transfer targets rather than players like Norwood who is clearly too good for League One. How the hell was he our no.1 target? The fake Emile Heskey BBC webpage mock-up was more believable than Norwood signing for us.

Good championship player, who will only get better. Excellent vision and distribution. I think he's a championship version of Paul Scholes, not the most dynamic (lacks a little in pace and strength), but still with potential to really do something in this league.

Gave up hope of us signing him weeks ago. I'm just surprised he couldn't find a team better than Huddersfield!

Nah, in retrospect, we'll discover that the free transfer from Barnsley reserves was "Always our number one target". You know how it works..

Calm down lads we've missed out on Norwood! I for one won't loose any sleep over it, he was a good player but some are making him out to be like Zidane. That said he is too good for any side in League 1 and is a team now that suits him down to the ground a mid to low championship side. Good luck to him and a big thank you to him for his attitude and the report he built with our fans. PUSB

Norwood actually says that "I don't want to keep going out on loan".......Doesn't that ring any alarm bells with anyone????
Perhaps AT tried to get him again "ON LOAN"......Fooking terrible!

Not possible, he rejected a new deal at Man U and was out of contract.

I thought that Huddersfield had signed Oliver Norwood not Andrea Pirlo?

Agreed that I think we over-rated him a bit-the Scholes comparisons were laughable-but he was still miles ahead of anything we have, or can get, in terms of vision and creativity. Unless Gael fulfils his potential overnight, IF HE'S STILL HERE.
