Huddersfield expected to target Steven Pressley after Mark Robins is dumped #pusb #ccfc #htfc http://www.coventrytelegraph.net/sp...ws/huddersfield-town-could-set-sights-7590734 …

Well could just be the telegraph stirring up controversy, but then there could be some truth in it.

Eric Black and Gary McAllister are usually favourites when we have a vacancy, they haven't come back yet.

"could" and "expected". It's a nonsense article, knocked up in ten minutes.

Maybe.. but..

Blimey Gary Mc isn't going in for management jobs still is he, thought that idea had hit the blocks years ago.

No, I don't think so. He just gets put on the "favourites" list if there's a vacancy at City or Leeds.

Huddersfield targeted Pressley before i think. He may have actually been granted permission to speak to them i recall. For some reason i actually trust Pressley when he talks of being here for the long term project. Mind you i trusted Robins when he said the club was in his blood.

Probably some truth in it and obviously they have come knocking at out for before for our manager.

The manager has won 4 out of the last 24 games. Doesn't strike me as a target for championship clubs.

If SP goes, I'm blaming it all on Paul form Warwick at the fans forum the other night (I know who you are, Westoner!) when he told SP his signings had been woeful last season. Seriously - SISU will get a fee for SP going and we will take Mark Robbins back on half of his previous salary and with welcoming arms :claping hands::slap:

If he does go ( and will problably take the likes of Reda and all our other decent players) thank the tits who gave him stick on the radio the other night as they will play however small a part if he leaves.

I am beyond belief with some so called Cov fans the past few days................. Proven Bullshit liars and giving a man who is working with nothing as our manager stick on a BBC radio show.

Well done !

It's all speculation at the moment, I doubt the telegraph already have an inside scoop on to who they will target.

Agree. The minute they heard Robins was out they made up an article full of words like "could", "expected", "understands".

I really don't think Presley would go.

Breaking... I just refreshed the odds page I was looking at & SP's odds have closed from 4/1 to 5/2.. and the other close contenders drifted out
http://www.skybet.com/football/specials/manager-specials?&btag=a_7753b_243c_

Now settled on 11/4..

That means money is moving in on him. Were all you lot just down the bookies?

That's because of the CET page and discussion on forums such as this.

It's why chris wilder was favourite here and was never even considered.

Is this going to happen every time a championship managers position comes up? Ffs give it a rest. What will be will be.

Steven Pressley, Dave Jones, Alex Ferguson, Jose Mourinho, it wouldn't make a scrap of difference.

He'll get no support from the owners, minimal funds and be expected to attract players to play at Sixfields.

The position must surely be the least attractive in English football.

Billy Davies seems to have come from nowhere to 2/1. To sack a manager after one game i suspect someone has already been sounded out about the job.

Why would the Forest forums be in meltdown?

Ask Grendel, he thinks it is forum discussions that drive the odds (I can't explain that one, I always thought it was hard nosed calculations about the money being placed, but obviously G knows better than everyone else)..

I only said that because Davies was an ex Forest manager till recently.

Football management appointments are a total lottery and is purely influenced in the early stages by media based speculation. Chris wilder was never approached by the club and yet was favourite - due to media speculation and subsequent betting. Favourites one day disappear to rank outsiders the next. It's opposite to normal betting rules.

Agree that SISU may think "hmm, money!" but doubt SP would chuck it in on the ramblings of one idiot.

Billy Davies, Neil warnock, Chris houghton, Neil lennon, Brian McDermott?

Or Stephen pressley in a current run of 4 wins in 24. No I don't see it at all.
