A quick question for the famalies that have been to the Ricoh

How young is too young for children in your opinion. I have a 5 and 7year old who's education on being a real football fan i want to start.

I was just thinking this the other day as I have a 3 year old. She is definitely too young.

Been wondering the same thing myself, I've got a spare ticket for MK tomorrow, and my 6-year-old wants to come along... Can't decide if she's too young for the more "rowdy" away following and if her first game should be at the Ricoh.

I took my 3 and 6 year old to Sixfields for a game. When we scored the noise scared my 6 year old (my 3 year old loved the cheering) and there was only 3500/4000 there I think.

Noise was the only think that they didn't love... apart from not being in Coventry of course

I'm not taking mine until they are 8. They'd be a bloody nightmare younger than that. We'd spend the whole game going back to the toilets/refreshments/concourse due to them being bored.

I first went to a game when I was 5, think my brother was the same. Try and get a ticket in the family section, that's probably the best area for really young kids.

I'll be taking the Mrs too for the toilet runs etc. She's not too fussed on football so while she earns her keep i would see the whole game

Would only do the family section and a Saturday afternoon game and maybe Chiquitos afterwards.

My lad was 2, it was Big Fat Rons first game, decked out in skyblue he sat on my shoulders while walking to the game.

He dosent go anymore sad really, he may get the bug back one day, but I fear it's gone forever.

Thinking about taking my 4 year old. It'll be down to the kid as to whether they an handle the boredom/noise (depending on the game) I reckon.

Agree schmeee it depends on the child. Got one that I took at 8 and was a complete pain all game. The one I thought wouldn't like it went when they were 5 and is absolutely smitten. Take them and be patient, and you never know. PUSB

My daughter was 3 or 4 when I first took her to a game. It was a reserve game at Highfield Road so of no consequence as a match, and I arranged to take her home at half time and go back, which worked well. She was fine, so her first proper game was in the West Stand aged about 6. She loved it at the time and was no bother. I think it depends on the child and whether they are capable of sitting down, or if they tend to want to run around when their attention wanders.

Mine went to several games, but it didn't end well. She lost interest in her teens and now she's in her 20s she is into motor racing and egg-chasing. So I guess I failed.....
