Last night it was just hand your fiver to the man and walk in for most people.

How could they have worked out the attendance?

I bet the cashiers had a nice pay boost with the cash in hand

Don't they have some sort of counter every time a turnstyle is used?

Every time you put your ticket in the slot it counts it. I used the pay on the door thing. Gave the bloke a fiver, he gives me a ticket, i have to put the barcode in the machine and it lets you through, i guess that counts how many go through aswell

My point is that they weren't giving tickets they were just taking the fiver and the turnstyles were open so you just walked through without having to wait for them to unlock it.

It could be I guess but can't see it being very accurate.

They have to manually release the turnstile to allow you in, that might have some kind of counter to it. I didn't get a ticket either.

Even if they were not giving out tickets, would the person on the gate not have to press a button to release the turnstyle which would add to the count or are you saying they were not doing that either

Was this the same around the whole stadium, it might have just been a few hundred people getting in like that because they had missed 10-15 mins of the beginning of the match?

I can't see that being that accurate though, if people nip out for a ciggy before the game they come back in through the turnstyles.

The fella probably was letting people through with his foot on a lever or something last night but it was going ten to the dozen if he was.

The old ticket conspiracies, you can't beat them. I think they were caught out by the numbers and late arrivals for sure. I bought tickets at 5 pm to be told they had sold 6500, so do the maths............3500 walk ups, creates a bit of chaos.

I just generally wondered how they would have worked it out. Not to mention the sheer amount of cash going to the attendants without them giving out tickets or receipts or any sort so how would CCFC know how many went through the gate compared to how much they were given?

The lady on the cash turnstile where I went in, at the corner of the Tesco/CET stands, was giving out tickets in exchange for the fivers. I guess the turnstiles that opened up when the realisation set in that there were lots of people still waiting to get in after the kick-off were the ones where no tickets were issued......great turnout by the fans/supporters/glory hunters on such a cold night!
