State of some of these goals:

Our best chance in years to go up with the likes of Murphy, Armstrong, maddison all running on full. Makes you bloody wonder
Very frustrating

It was.

We clearly should have made the play-offs.

We may have finished just outside and in our highest position for years, but we should have secured a top 6 place at the very minimum.

Not finishing in the top 6 didn't help much.

Because the owners chose not to invest when the young players needed certainly at least another centre half and a centre forward. For me the blame lies firmly with SISU

They signed 3 centre halves and a striker.

Getting promoted means playing well for the entire season, not just half a season.

Personally I think we were lucky to get our teenager (Armstrong) firing first half of the season. As Newcastle *still* don't want him, it suggests he's not up to top level yet, and we were his first full season - hardly surprising he dipped.

We did better than I dared hope for last season, overall. It's the crash that makes it unpalatable but, overall, I'd say the season was progress. The problem was, as feared, relying on loans meant a total rebuild in the summer... with results as we see now!

Yes we should've made the top 6 minimum.

Thank you very much Tony Mowbray, you are the reason we didn't.

We signed Cole, Henderson, Hunt and Ramage aswell as a couple of loans. For some mysterious reason failed to replace the pace of Ryan Kent, can't blame sisu for that.

We should have got one high quality centreback when Ben Turner got injured and we should have got one high quality striker to push Armstrong when he had his dip in form. Instead, our owners decided to cash in on our best youngster (Maddison) and brought in garbage players such as Hunt, Ramage, and Cole.

Could argue the issue was going for the bloke feeling his way back into the game after a bad injury in the first place.

Biggest problem was our fans got carried away and over estimated our ability. The first half flattered us. Yes we were in a great position but Walsall and Burton. around Christmas were the tests; they broke our backs.

Everyone was waiting for Burton to blow up, just like all the pundits were predicting a Leicester fail. Both teams were unfashionable but more solid than given credit for.

Apart from Ramage who was a 4 week fix, I thought Mowbray made some decent gambles in January. The fact the nags didn't romp home is more a reflection on the market rather than the players or the manager.

You just can't build a successful team in one season of frees and out of contracts.

Huge mistake not to bring in quality to maintain position in January.

Chopping and changing the team didn't help last season if we had a settled side we would have made the top 6

I hate sisu and what they are doing to my football club but noway can they be blamed for Cole, Henderson, Hunt or Ramage, all of whom played at top level yet TM couldn't get them to play. Just wonder what was said in the post match reviews which worryingly must have included Mark Venus.

Didn't mowbray sign about 5 players in January?
Ramage henderson Cole bigi hunt?? None of those would have been cheap signings and Mowbray chose to sign them. How can you say the owners didn't back him when he signed that load of shite?

Are our fans this stupid or do they know they're talking complete shit but don't care because it's easier?

We recruited badly in January for sure.

It could have made all the difference had TM made the right choices.

The other day he slated the signings we/"they" made and it was one of the reasons Mowbray should have gone. But now he's almost defending them as a counter argument.

Yes, because we signed players, lots. Just not very good.

Who is being defended? Unless you mean me just stating a fact

It's as if people are too busy getting angry they don't have a clue about the football side.

So I was wrong with the players I said signed?

What point are you trying to get at? Why get so angry by somebody saying 3 centre halves and a striker signed?

It baffles me to this day the drop in our form. We should have won that league however I think 2 things happened. Teams figured us out and our loan players were fatigued by the final quarter of the season.

That drop was eerily similiar to the Rolland Neilson season when the board thought it best to bring Jim Smith in to help-bringing old Derby pensioners in to help out. What was our best change to be promoted back to the Prem disappeared.......
