How much longer does Frank have to turn this round? Its been the same script for WEEKS now. At no point has he tried to change things. Just sticking with the same "favourite" and out of form players, same formation, same tactics. He either needs to have a serious rethink and sort out his stubborn, failing tactics... or Doug has to make yet another HUGE call and get somebody else in. If we leave it too much longer, its too late. Either Frank needs to change his gameplan ASAP, or he needs replacing imo.

I mean you cant change the manager just because we're not doing well but are still top of the league, but I get the sentiment.

A lot of the criticism from Derby fans of Frank Lampard was there was never a plan B and in truth I’m seeing the same.

Not being out to see games is much the issue of the players as it is the manager.

I fear, and I hope I’m wrong, we will fizzle out this season.

Of course you can. You think the players sit as high as they do against the managers wishes? You think its shouldn't be the managers job to play a back 3 away from home when we ship as many as we do? A few of the players could be better, but its the stagnated tactics costing us. EVERYONE can see it bar Frank Lampard. So he either changes his tactics (unlikely at this point) or he goes and somebody with a different idea comes in. I fear it may already be too late to do so and we will fuck this up with him at the helm still.

He left Derby nearly 7x years ago, he should have learned from his mistakes, including what you said about being narrow tactically

What a load of bollocks this thread is. I mean we are still top of the league! You want to get rid of the manager who got us there.

We are showing every sign we are going to fizzle out and be out of the automatic promotion chase imminently. Doug judged others very harshly and said about blowing opportunities…

On another note, League One Liam needs to fuck off the clumsy shithouse.

Obviously not going to happen

It was never the plan for us to be top - King has said himself we are aiming for the playoffs each year, so sacking his manager when we are top ain't happening

Absolutely.

I’d like to make it clear I don’t want Lampard out, but he does need to change something because we are losing too many games, either from good positions or naivety and it has to stop if we want to achieve our goals.

Kitching needs to sit out the next couple of games, he’s been a calamity for a few games now.

No, I want him to sort it out. If not, I want us to get rid of the manager that fucked up the biggest gap in championship history.

5 at the back? Stop JDS chasing nothing in their half at 1-0 away from home and leaving us conceding the same goal we concede EVERY week. All of my thoughts are regardless. The man paid a handsome sum to make the changes, isnt. And for that reason, changes need making.

There is obviously zero chance of him being sacked, and rightly so.

But he really needs to sort this out, he's made quite a lot of mistakes recently and his in-game management has been very poor.

Robins wasn’t given much time to turn it around, and he’d won two promotions and taken us to an FA cup semi final on almost a shoestring budget. I like Lampard, but it will be devastating to let this opportunity slip away. In the summer we have a number of players with a year left on their contract, a lot maybe sold so it will be a rebuilding and next season will be impacted, this golden opportunity can’t be allowed to disappear without a fight!

If Doug King is going to be as harsh with Lampard as he was with Robins, he’s only a few defeats away from being sacked. Remember it was Doug King that demanded a cup run and then cried like a little bitch when it impacted our league form. Tory twat.

Lampard has no plan B and doesn’t change the set up even when it’s blindingly obvious. More time needed of course and I don’t want him to be sacked but some serious thought on starting line up and making us more compact on the road is badly needed.

I find the whole thing incredibly sad.

It's really beginning to crumble you feel and we desperately need to get one or two players over the line on Monday.

Once again, once the opposition got in front we looked toothless and never looked like equalising.

For the first time, I do now think we will probably now throw it all away.

Not just Boro and Ipswich now is it, it's Hull too

We need some fresh blood. Was hoping Markelo was going to be ready and thrown into the fray, but seemingly he is a way off yet

We can't keep losing away. The more we don't pick up points away, the more pressure it puts on our home form.

Bottom line is, we now don't look like the same team that was flourishing earlier in the season. We now look just like an okay team and one that can be beaten if you get at us.

Honestly thought we were going to go on and win once we went 1 up, but as soon as they scored, the tables turned and we looked distinctly average again.

It's all very sad.

Not sure you can sack FL though. Who would you bring in anyway?

That pass in the 96th minute just sums up what most people are saying and frustrated at.

There is now calm, no thought process, no leadership on the pitch to get us through. It’s just really poor.

honestly if i hear we can’t question the managers running of the team because we are top and he got us here my head may explode.

We look a busted flush, and in danger of the season seriously floundering and us starting from square 1 next year

Its giving him time to turn it round that'll cost us promotion. Hes had nearly 3 months to turn it round but still sticking with the same tactics. Hes dining out on what was a freak start to the season. Not only by us, but by how slow the rest of the league started.

If we fail to go up he would for me need to go , as the form will have been poor for such a period it would warrant it .

16 point lead we had

Looks like next season will be a lot tougher, what with Wrexham and Birmingham throwing money around like there's no tomorrow.

I think the Championship will be harder next year

If we keep losing away and keep looking inept he will

Our home form isn't going to be enough by itself. We need to toughen up and show more fight.

We look quite weak I would say. A bit fragile and out heads really drop once we go behind.

We'll also be back to the starting of a complete new rebuild phase. To miss promotion now would be a 5 year backward step

I'd like to see a plan A that doesn't have 1 midfielder holding hands with the CBs, another playing as a 2nd striker or getting jn the way on the wings and where the full backs aren't continuously out of position leaving the CBs & Grimes exposed. We must be the easiest team to play against as there are gaps everywhere. Add to this our set pieces have no variation, I would have thought that a coach who was a very good player would come up with better than doing the same thing every time. Something needs to change otherwise if we don't get promoted from the position we were in then I can see Doug getting ruthless again.
