It was a fair whack last year but with some fairly hefty away followings now being missed out on surely it is going to be a substantial loss to the local economy?

How can councillors and the council leader really not give a shit about that aspect of it?

Council don't care as long as they get to keep their imaginary "we beat sisu" boner

I tried reaching out to local businesses but none got back to me. Was as Covid was ramping up though.

Again, I’ll be coming from the south west spending money in brum that would normally be spent in Cov.

It's like laughing at your own child because they are homeless... Absolutely bizarre, we must have one of Britain's worst councils

He has the sort of face you'd never get tired of punching. It's up to you people in Cov to vote the two-faced fucker out at the next local election

Labour are so ingrained into Coventry they could put Ted bundy up as a candidate and he'd be voted in

Jesus Christ guys, maybe don’t post threats of violence against local figures on a public forum?

playing devils advocate, in terms of losses locally, hasn't the city just replaced one 10-20k attendance sports team with another ?

having both in the city would clear have local benefits

Yeah pretty much. It’s not really away attendance that adds to the local economy mind, what’s that like in egg chasing?

According to the Premiership rugby site 81,055 was the total attendance for Wasps last season. To beat that we'd have to average 3,525 a game next season assuming we don't have a single home cup tie.

Thing that annoys me about that most is the focus on manufacturing economy. Diversified economy FFS! Focus on one sector and you're asking for periods of boom and bust. What's worse is the entire thing is based on a mix of lazy stereotypes successive govts have of the regions and people obsessed with the past and make the link that because that was what we we're doing in the heyday we should do it again, completely failing to acknowledge it was the stuff leaving and getting overtaken by competition that put us into decline.
