Several rumours circulating regarding our main 3 strikers , but would we be fortunate to cover our outlay ?
Wright …..we get glimpses of his ability
Simms …..the wolves game seems years ago , since he put himself about .
Asante ….?

Hypothetically if they were all to be sold tomorrow on current form we’d do well to get 15 million for all three. Can see Simms being moved on but think that’s all dependent on if Doug can recoup his money on him.

Regardless of people’s current view on wright, we would make money on him, if he went tomorrow - circa £15million +

simms would also at worst get his initial outlay back.

bta, again thereabouts initial outlay.

Agree with this.

Simms - people would see the attributes and think with the right training they can get the best out of him, just most likely reached the end of the road here.

BTA - would be a good mid/lower championship striker and good for 10/15 a season if he's first choice.

Wright - pissed off with him for not bothering when it mattered but his goal per minute is very good.

The reality is I think BTA and Simms are not Championship level and therefore their collective value would only be what lower league clubs could afford unless the Scots came in for them. I reckon we could be lucky to get £3 million for both.
Wright is a better player of course if a club can get him fired up and would still likely recoup £10 million plus.

They are both championship level, easily and have proved it, both with us and other championship teams, that just doesn’t make any sense.

A very odd view of our strikers from a normally sensible poster.

Stick another £3m on Wright if selling to a prem club and same goes with the other 3 if selling to Wrexham.

Take a million off Simms and two off Bassette and I’d agree.

Bassette surely holds value and adds a tiny bit on due to contract length.
Simms isnt less than we paid for him, he can score goals at this level and on his day can be a battering ram, if he’d been playing like Wright had in the last 10 games all season then I’d agree but he hasnt he’s shown glimpses

We massively overpaid for Bassette. I can’t see anyone else making the same mistake.

He’s just turned 20 years old, he has the attitude and work ethic to be a great striker

You mean he runs about like a headless chicken and kisses his badge? He’s worse than Simms at controlling a football and that’s saying no something.

“Usually a younger player is showing some footballing ability by 20 years old.” [Unless it’s Bassette obviously.]

If the chance arises we should look at offloading.

Bassette is 20, played for the national team and teams have looked at him.

the idea nobody would pay any sort of money for him is ludicrous.

I can actually see him playing a decent part next season.

I think Simms and BTA will go, we will recoup £5m for them both, we will sign a couple strikers and Bassette will be third choice.

I can see us playing 2 up top on occasion next year.

I can't see us playing 2 up top.
Lampard is committed to 4 3 3.
I agree about Bassette, I'd like to see if we can develop him.

Its got to be difficult moving to a new country when you’re 19 speaking very minimal English with the tough expectations of the Championship

Chasing a game a lot we’ve gone 442 so I can see it if we’re going for the win or are losing

Attitude and work ethic alone is not worth £2.5 million.

This forum has goldfish memory. A few months ago people were saying Bassette was the new Gyokeres and BTA is shite.

A bit of bad form for the former and an assist for the latter and it's all flipped.

I hope Bassette rubs this in peoples faces. He's 20, a Belgian international and playing his first season in an intense foreign league.

We paid 2m for him, he’s got potential, 20 years old, got ages left on his contract, he can become a good player. Im not saying anyone would pay that Im just saying I wouldnt accept below that because why would you take a loss on such a young player that could flip a massive profit

Think Bassette is fine as a young back up striker. He has pace which will always cause people issues although needs to time his runs. The other thing he has which we’re missing upfront is aggression and bite. Playing 4-3-3 we need a target man that can hold the ball up and I’d argue more goals from left and right wing.

Wright 15
Simms 5
BTA 3.
We should look to keep Wright and BTA

Simms and BTA be lucky to get back what we paid. I think they will have takers, Simms is one of those that if you can get it out of him then he'll be some player, just a shame he has the heart the size of a pea.

Bassette due to his age is worth another season as a development player imo. Has something that you can't train, pace. Strikes a ball well but has so much too work on.

Every player has their value, and if we get a decent offer, then they need to go, not sure we have a single striker I'd be sad to see leave.

Jesus this hate for Bassette is typical of this place. Most this forum were frothing at the mouth about his performance and dark arts against Sheff Utd at the CBS and now he's the shittest player we have ever signed. 20 years old in his first season in a different country and league. Belgian international. Give him a chance for fucks sake.

Is that the only bit you can pick out? In that case maybe his injury has prevented him from more caps.
