Think Free Radio was closer to the mark plus there were also the people waiting in Broadgate

The old away section at Highfield Road used to hold 4000 - no way would yesterdays lot have fitted in there with 500 seats left empty. E:blue:asily more than that

I was right at the back. Would say there were about 7,000. I'd imagine a good number went direct to Broadgate. So could have been more eventually. I was walking along with Barbra Hill, wife of Peter Hill. Older fans may recall Peter. Big player for us in 1950s. Became trainer under Jimmy Hill. She was showing support in her retro kit. Lovely lady. Though Peter not well. & good to see Ron Farmer there too. Coventry through and through.
