With rumours of Leon going as well as Christie having his head turned, how many do we need to bring in I say we need at least 2 strikers , a central defender and a winger. What about you ??

Three maybe Four, depends on so many things!

Wish both life and football were an awful lot simpler. PUSB

If Leon goes we are fucked end of our season.

Like SP said every club wants a striker.
Why would they want to come to Coventry with all the shit we are having playing at sixfields in front of 2000 sleeping supporters.

Unless they are past it and no one else wants then.

2 strikers 4 midfielders 4 defenders 1 goalie, guess thats 11, least we`d have some cover even if they are mediocre!

Overpaid, right now at CCFC Rather play a defender as a defender than as a striker.
Mediocre is pretty much what this league is, not too many special players out there that we could afford, cover is cover tho!

Right now, I would take that over what we have now, which is underpaid mediocre players (bearing in mind we are only L1) still with shit management. At least back then we were in the Premier League and had some fun in COVENTRY !

Yes and we've had to suffer the consequences of the PL fun for the last decade...

I remember Leicester playing Matt Elliott up top in the PL, and we played a striker centre half (Dublin) a fair bit in the PL.

Was It Blackburn or SW who converted Paul Warhust?

How many can we get in under the one in one out rule after those that have left in the last week or two? Remember those coming in can only be on a % of the wages of the player who's gone out.

True, I thought Dublin started his career as a defender, there are quite a few players over the years that have evolved to be able to play competently up front and in defence, we are not in the position to gamble, we need players.

If Clarke goes we need a like for like.

Otherwise:
- CB (Seaborne will do)
- CM (defensive)
- Winger (preferably can play both sides)
- Striker (quick, can play now)

That's a minimum if we're going for promotion. However I fear that's no longer the case. No coincidence the rumblings of off field trouble come up in January again. Aren't we due another Queens Speech from Joy?

Yeah, and didn't Chris Sutton start out as a centre back ?

Thank you! Was sat here racking my brains about the guy that partnered Shearer and started as a defender!

We don't need 11, like shhmeee said 2x strikers (ideally 1 that can also play wide), a centre back and possibly another centre mid.

One of the reasons we've done so well this season (5th minus the 10 point deduction) is the team spirit that a small tightknit squad brings.

You're right I hated every game in those 34 years in the top flight

Also Ian Marshall Oldham successfully played as centre back and a striker.

If Leon and Cyrus both stay (which looks doubtful admittedly) I would be happy with Seaborne, Dicko and Dagnall.
