Wouldn't mind him moving on. Sisu and their lack of investment would make this an impossible job for anyone

Come on Paxman .

A little humility toward your fellow fans and a tad les of the gloating will keep us more united than scoring points.

Lolol. ONE win, and he suddenly becomes a Messiah! He plays more than 1 player up front, we actually score a couple of goals, and it took him all season to realise this???

A win and everything goes back to woo woo for the casual fans doesn't it? Let's paper over them cracks, no one will see.

6 points off bottom with teams all around us with games in hand, SP by the majority was given until the end of the season to improve things (poll on here and FB). He currently is. But all you care about is winding up your fellow fans waiting for a bite?.

Six bloody points off the bottom four of league one and a poster thinks Pressley is the new Mourinho and has turned the club around.

god some people are easy to please.

he has took half a season to realise he has been playing the wrong system with the players available, a wasted half season in my book. Now will the special one keep this system that has transformed the team in the last couple or so games or will he revert to the ridiculous system that got us in this bloody mess.

i'm fuming he has took so long to see what everyone else bar That clown RFC has been saying for the last 22 games.

if he keeps this system I will change my opinion of him as the best way forward is to learn from your mistakes

But with an honest look we have had a decent not yet amazing 10 game run .

Some sense the problems lie higher up the chain than just the manager ,who I've never considered to be a messiah as such .

The smart view was give him till Christmas and things have turned and need acknowledging .

It would be very hard to dismiss him currently as I don't think things would Improve vastly .

He has a couple of areas to improve on being Transfer activity and style of play and the next month or two will tell us a lot IMO.

24% win ratio in 2014
100% win ratio in 2015

Give him a new 4 year deal.

right here!!, although whatever he does at the minute isnt his fault, waggot should have fucked him off months ago. he is a useless manager and one win doesnt make him amazing. but let him string you along with the odd win here and there and then you can join the majority next season in league 2 saying we should have sacked him in jan. this season is so similar to the andy thorn disaster it goes beyond deja vu

Yeah tbh I've never been completely OUT... but it works the other way too. Had we *lost* 2-0 it wouldn't have suddenly transformed him either.

As before, if he's shoring up the foundations, he's worth sticking with regardless. One win, however, doesn't automatically mean all is rosy in the slightly bearded garden.

Yeah, I'm still in the Pressley Out camp. Not rabidly so, but ultimately I just don't think that he is a very tactically astute manager. He doesn't know how to win games and doesn't get the best out of the players available to him.

Take today: he stumbled over a winning side entirely by accident. He'll never drop his golden boy Donkey Webster, it takes an injury. Phillips comes in at RB and promptly gives us the attacking outlet from full-back that we have been crying out for, and which Pennington, for all his clear ability, has struggled to provide. This helped to get a much better performance out of O'Brien, to boot. Pennington moves to CB and delivers his best performance. Pressley even admits that he was told by Everton that Pennington's best position was CB, yet he brought him into the club to play as a RB?!?

Then take the second half today: Walsall came out and having sussed out our shape, dominated the game, creating a host of goalscoring opportunities. We were very lucky not to concede and were kept in the game by Alsop and the woodwork. Pressley did nothing to change that. A good manager would have done-not always a sub is needed, just a subtle positional adjustment or change in instructions to players. We held out, they ran out of steam, we got a second and won-that's football, luck is a part of it. But SP, Tactical Genius? Bullcrap. Credit to the players for the win today, not SP.

So he has changed his tactics that he should have done months ago and started a player he has "bombed" and hadn't given a chance anyway who sounds like he has played a great game today.

It makes me see that his calls and stubbornness to play his dodgy tactic and falling out with players could have cost us a fair few points

And I'll add to that: Thomas tackled and closed down in a way that Barton can't. Barton would have still been in the starting XI if he hadn't got that red card and suspended. Once again, stumbled over a better combination entirely by accident, not down to choice. Tactically inept, sadly!

It does sound that he landed a bit lucky with Pennington playing well at centre half and Tudgay up front.

Makes you wonder about Miller too...

Q1) If you had a gun pointed at your head and the man said you have 2 options A) Die or B) keep Pressley as manager which one would you choose?

Result of poll 97% want to keep Pressley as manager...the other 3% have skipped the country ...

Maybe I give too much credit for forums such as this - and other channels of supporters' communications; but isn't it interesting that at a time when the noises have appreciably grown (alongside rumours of behind the scenes discontent, to boot), he changes the formation to 4-3-2-1 and looks at playing attacking football rather than the same old Falkirk way.

Now, if he could only lose his stubbornness over the way he man-manages, we might be able to keep - and attract - the players the needs, such as Nouble. Pressley isn't terrible, but he's not proved himself to be terribly experienced, either. Damn Robins for the way in which he left but, nevertheless, give me Robins any day.

Judging by all our successes this season, you will have plenty of time to get up to full ammo!

This thread reminds me of when Kevin Kyle scored a goal and then come out and said "I think I've now silenced my critics".

Piss off with your smugness. Pressley is shite, his record tells me that but if you now think he is the real messiah then so be it. You base it on a couple of results, I base mine on since he has been here with everything he has done.

We now enter a time in the season when we traditionally tail off and end up struggling to fight off relegation. Problem is, like last season for instance, on the 12th Jan 2014 we were 11th on 33 pts (after a 10 point deduction) with a far better squad/team than this season and we ended up beating off relegation with a couple of games to spare.

I'd save being a smug tit until the end of the season.

Firstly I never said he was a messiah did I?

I posted in order to get a reaction from the same protagonist who skewer the guy every week and had so far remained silent. Funny how we do well and many of those moaners fail to appear as quickly as they normally do? Only when I made this post did we see some of those unable to resist the negative comeback. I guess we will suffer that affliction for ever - maybe it's a Coventry thing.

Pressley has had a reasonable run of late and today made it three away wins in the space of a couple of weeks, yet you still want to slag the guy off?

It's a results business and he needs to keep getting them. It's also a very long season. Those of you (like me even) who think we know better should stick to what we are good at or at least learn something and have enough humility to accept he has done quite well recently under what are still enormous trying conditions at our football club.

As I said a couple of weeks back give the guy until after the window and see what he can do through January. That opinion still stands.

I've been on here throughout the match and been positive, but I am still a critic of Pressley. This isn't because of some irrational hatred of the man-I want him to do well; it's because of very real reasons, such as his poor tactical awareness and man-management.

As I posted earlier, he got lucky: he wouldn't have picked Phillips at RB, dropped Webster and put Pennington at CB in a month of Sunday's. Also, he would have persisted with Barton alongside Fleck, which clearly doesn't work, rather than picked Thomas.
