Grew up in Ash Green. Would walk everyday to wheel wright lane primary. It would be a left turn there and down burbages Lane to the Ricoh. My dad was injured in a nasty car accident on what was Bedlam Lane.

I was born about 1.5 mile from HR then we moved and it was a bout 2.5 miles. Went to Stringer for 2 years while it was based at Fredie Birds School just a spit from the ground.
then about 6 miles to the Ricoh.

I went to C the K Juniors for about 3 or 4 months early 1964. Mrs Sircombe was the dragon of a headmistress. My teacher was a Mr Brogden.

Brogden was there when I went, but not the other one, Laverty was headmaster.

Brought up in Cheylesmore , short walk to the London rd social club , stand outside for 2 hrs with a bag of crisps and a coke then walk to Highfield rd where my dad would chuck 50p to the turnstile man to " let the little man in " . Back there after the game , me mum would come in about 9 pm to drag him out whilst I was in the car park on my 6th coke and crisps !
Happy days

HR 0.5 miles.

Could see the floodlights from the front bedroom of the house I was born in, and could hear the cheering when City scored in the 60s and 70s.

HR - 2 miles give or take.
Ricoh - about a mile at a guess on foot (or quite a bit further by car I suppose) although it didn't exist when I lived on Pearson Avenue....

We were from the same neck of the woods. I went to Manor Park, instead of Howes and also went to Whitely. I lived to tell the tale as well, always a bonus!

HR 0.6 miles, Ricoh 3 miles.

Like HH and BBR, I was born in Gulson Road Hospital and I lived in Harper Road. I remember that Alec Statham the speedway rider had a garage on the corner of Harper Road/Gulson Road. Joe Elliot had a shop opposite Gulson Road Hospital where I used to buy stuff for my track bike. His shop was built on the site of a few bombed out houses in which I used to play, much to my mum's horror.

My missus was born at Gulson Road. Does that count?
However - I DID used to drink with the late great Alec Statham at the Friendly Inn at Frankton (our local when I was a kid/youth). He was still owner of Cov Crane Hire at the time.
(Used to use Joe's shop a lot too).

Have been doing a bit of guessing based on my own readings. Few posters on here from this part of town. Was hoping valiant would be closest to validate his attitude.
