Trying to win hearts and minds? A trick? To be welcomed? Trying to build bridges with Cov?

(Was going to put this in the Wasps sub forum, but it was more about Cov to be honest and ours and theirs attitude towards to the little insects, rather than about them)

I think it happens in rugby a fair bit. The team that played there the other week from Bristol I believe had some players from the Bristol team in it.

Yeah, but I thought there was now a bit of frostiness between Cov and Wasps.

Is that not the case?

Was surprised to see it happen to be honest, because in many ways Wasps are the enemy to Cov.

Was this the first time, if so i think the timing of it is a bit suspect, why now.

Dual registration is common.

Pleased they have and by all accounts the wasps lads played a big part in the victory.

I guess we will all find out when CET drop this as a blockbuster exclusive.

I predict at least 1 person saying that SISU are wankers for not doing the same.

I used to play rugby in the 80's and most weeks you could be asked to play for a fellow club.I'd play for Pinley one Saturday, and Standard the next, its nothing new in rugby.

Of course it's not benefiting Wasps having 3 youngsters playing competitive 3rd tier rugby!

It was the first time I believe, although some cov players have played in Wasps A before.

Just like loaning any other players to be honest - although I would rather have as little to do with them as possible. We just borrowed Freddi Tuilagi from Leicester.

Again, was very much thinking from Cov 's point of view. Wasps are the usurper. They unwanted guest here, the rival rugby team to Cov.

Would have just thought that following the Wasps statements about working with Cov and not doing owt at all to help, Cov would be looking elsewhere for players.

Think Cov realise there is not a lot that can be done and we might as well make the most of what they can offer.

The 3 lads going by last week have added to the team so can't complain too much.

Just hope within 5 years Cov can cement themselves as a midtable championship side and float around that level.

Just to add my tuppence to this. I'm a regular at Cov rugby and I'm not particularly happy that we're having anything at all to do with Wasps. Some fans will probably feel the same as me, and some won't.

That isn't the players' fault though, so they'll get my support when they're on the pitch. The coach's job at Cov obviously depends on results so I know why he's taken that decision, they look like good additions. Doesn't make me happy about it though - I'm just glad CCFC can't loan players from Wasps.

It doesn't sit right with me at all either - but like you said it's not the players fault. The way I got over it was telling myself it's just the same as loaning any player from another team really.

No I agree re Wasps. The problem comes last Saturday when wasps are at home in Europe Cov in the league and for the cost of going to Cov you can get wasps cheapest ticket again good pricing by them you draw the casual fan up the Ricoh to watch international players at a higher standard.

Covs attendances still comfortably the highest In the league are down on previous years hopefully it's down to a mixed start in the league!

Clubs PR has improved since RW has come In, the Moseley game on the 17/12 should be 2,000 min if the club get it right!!

I can't stand Wasps and like others, would rather not have to thank them for anything. It's not my decision though, it's Rowland Winter's and I trust him to do what's best for CRFC. He knows what he's doing, this is why the BPA development, regardless of CCFC is vital. This will allow CRFC to progress so long as the RFU don't push through the stupid idea around salaries in leagues one and two. It should be the same as FFP in football, you're allowed to spend a % of turnover. CRFC are one of the biggest and most attended in their league. Therefore with extra revenue a develeopment would bring, it would give CRFC a greater chance of being competitive in the championship.

No I totally agree, I think RW is bringing the club into the 21st century in his ways!

On a complete side note I detest just the 1 up! Should be 2 or the potential of even if it's a playoff game 2nd top of N1 plays 2nd bottom of champ or 2 down from champ 2nd v 3rd playoff.

For instance couple of years ago Cov had great season broke club records for wins but Ealing were bankrolled (within their rights) up!

It's all over the shop anyway.

Think I counted 7 home Cov rugby games when CCFC were away at the start of the season that increased to 8 with Sheff U being moved to a Thursday, freed up the big one v Moseley!

I don't agree with it at Prem level but get it shame though they can't allow at bit more movement in the lower divisions, like now Hartpury running away with it, so those clear of the bottom 2 haven't got too much to play for already, bit like the old county cricket system where it was one division of 18 counties, 1 winner and usually a dozen games into the season you were a fair few points behind your season from an achievement side was done!
