Would be good if this season could be another 1985.

Been checking back through the records and found that in 1985 Middlesborough stayed up in 4th from bottom place on 40 points.

3rd from bottom Notts County 37 pts
2nd from bottom Cardiff 35 pts
Bottom Wolves 33 pts.

Long time ago, but I suppose it is possible 40 points could be enough this season too.

I think it depends more on who those points are against. A win for us against the teams down there is obviously more valuable so we have four cup finals. If we can win thise and collect the odd point it could well be enough. Unfortunately I don't think we will win all four but it is certainly in our own hands.

The Pompey deduction thing has obviously helped lower the total points required I think.

Still lots of games with bottom teams playing each other.

Just wish Peterborough had a few less cos they look like they are in freefall at the moment.

Strange Wolves are there as its been going through my mind lately how much of a similar situation we are in now as they were in the early/mid 80's. Took them 20 years to recover.

Be the same for us.

Well almost. Add a 1 on the front and make that 120 years.
