Feels like we have adapted and found a way , it's not pretty bit we are effective

In the 12 matches we've played this season , we've had the second hardest set of games in the league based on PPG .

5 clean sheets in 6

10 points in the last 5 matches

How do people feel about survival this season now ?

It still hinges on January I think. Keep this squad intact through to the summer and it has a good chance of staying up. Lose a Gyo or an O’Hare and it’s in doubt.

Think we should survive and a bit better. Not the best (free flowing) football at the minute but we are currently getting results. We haven’t had O’Hare yet and Hamer missing for a number of games. Without two of our three ‘star’ players we have been competitive. No reason to doubt when we back to full compliment we can kick on.

Still the same as I did when we hadn't played, Hyam was sold and some were losing their heads (as per). Still confident we'll not only stay up, but will be comfortably mid-table.

Agreed. I'm really worried about Gyok being sold in Jan.
Gyok is a player whose stock is clearly on an upwards trajectory.
Last night he was the goal winning difference between a side who were bottom, and a side who had they won, would have gone top.
By now, most football people have realised how good a player he is, and he will sadly, but undoubtedly i suspect, also be wanting to play at a higher level.
That just leaves us to maximize the fee achieved, which historically we've not been great at...cough Hyam.

Better than a couple of games ago, and we still have our best player (imo) to come back.
I won't be relaxed until we're out of the bottom 3 though, and I hope it's before the World Cup break

Something has changed in the camp. Robins has hinted that something was up in an interview earlier in the season. No idea what it was but since the interview where he intimated it had been sorted things have been improving.

Of course also helps that we're on a regular schedule now and not having random weeks off, playing games at Burton and wondering if we'll ever get the pitch sorted.

Certainly feeling a lot more confident but things can swing the other way quickly. The squad depth is lacking and there's always a concern that we don't have adequate cover if a key player is out for an extended period.

A few injuries to the defence and I think we will struggle to survive unless we loan or buy in January.

I didn’t really think we had it in our character to grind out marginally small wins. So it’s encouraged me a bit.

We had a very near miss with not selling COH in the summer, I think it’d be another big miracle if we got away with it again in January. I think it all rests on that. The squad is very much living on the edge.

Never thought it was an issue once we got settled, going over old ground again but imo but for some shocking goalkeeping we could have had nine points from our first three games all away but only got one. Not being complacent we have plenty of work to do but the return of our better players especially O’Hare I’m certain we will progress up the table If we can get halfway by xmas id be very pleased.

I've not really worried seriously about relegation, it felt like the wonky start to the season was the main factor. If we are still hanging around the bottom around Christmas I'll start worrying but it feels like we're getting not particularly impressive, but effective which I'll take every time.

We haven’t done too bad with “key” players Hamer, O’Hare & Kelly out

A lot depends on January and what happens then or if Gyokeres is long term injured - also what happens with the stadium

11 of the next 16 matches are at home, if were still in a bad position after them we are in trouble

Losing Hyam with no replacement and Adaramola turning out to be not good enough was concerning.

But other than that I never felt we would be relegated, even with 2 points from 6 or whatever it was.

The disrupted start clearly had a huge impact and with no O'Hare as well.

I always felt there were easily 3 teams worse than us, more to be honest, and that we would pull clear of relegation.

Obviously a lot will depend on January and what happens with Gyokeres and O'Hare.

How am I feeling about survival? Best summed up by David Bowie I think -

Well I look at my watch, it says nine twenty-five
And I think "Oh God, I'm still alive"

Honestly never thought it was in doubt I didn't get all the amateur dramatics from a few on here. Stability is the key in style and players and we kept a good proportion of the group together.

The encouraging thing is , whilst it's not pretty , we've got results without o hare

So hopefully we are much improved with cal and hamer back in the fold

Well, yup. We haven't created much in the way of chances and both Hamer and O'Hare do exactly that.

Feeling a lot more confident Evo now we've stopped leaking so many goals. Depends on if they ship Vic on in Jan, he seems to be the one scoring and winning the penalties, don't think we've currently got anyone to step up to that degree.

Way more confident, look a lot better

With Hamer now back and O'Hare almost there, a lot happier

However were still in the bottom 3 and 3 points from safety, we need to be out the bottom 3 by the world cup break, as that will do wonders for the team mentality i feel

Stoke (A)
Rotherham (H)
Blackpool (H)
Blackburn (H)
Watford (A)
Wigan (H)
QPR(H)

All before the break

You've gotta be looking at 4 home wins from them 5, anything else picked up from Watford and Stoke is a bonus

12/13 points from that would have us on 25/26 from 19 and comfortable

Wont relax until end of the Jan window though

We found a way to stay up first season back with a worse squad.
My worry is next season if/when we lose the big hitters and we don't reinvest enough back into the squad

Reasonably comfortable with survival now we've retrenched, and gone for a similar grind result style out that we went for toward the end of our first season back up. Hopefully we can get a bit more progressive if we climb the table a bit.

You'd imagine we'll probably receive a bid for Gyokeres in January, so wonder if we'd be inclined to sell.
If/how we'd go about replacing him would be absolutely crucial

Never in doubt, ridiculous how some were so negative and predicted a relegation dog fight after 5/6 games. We had off the pitch challenges early in season.

As i keep saying every week and very vocal on here about the fact it was obvious we are in very false position.

Was nice to win ugly, beats playing good football and losing.

A bit more positive but taking a game at a time as it's very narrow margins

We seem to have turned a corner in terms of scraping results, and that's a very good thing. As others have said the January window will be interesting.

People can say it is dramatic to talk about relegation but the league table doesn't lie. We have had a shite start to the season regardless of missed games.

I think we can stay up but I'm probably most concerned about our midfield just being as impotent as it is. The don't score any goals other than Hamer. We need to chip in from other areas of the pitch because if something happens to Gyökeres, or he goes. I think we'll be in a lot of trouble.

Anyway, last few games have been very positive. Let's keep it up.

Ridiculous how top of the league is averaging alot less than 2 ppg, and have lost 7 games.

Its a crazy league, with crazy results. Pretty much every spot is up for grabs.

Sheffield/Boro/West brom/ Watford and Norwich are certainly under lots of pressure again.

The confidence in the immediate term is we survived our first season with Gyokeres only playing a bit part at the end of the year, and form picked up then anyway.

So it's not absolute crisis if he goes, although obviously would be a very big loss and make it a lot harder for us.
