I know it sounds negative, but that’s just how I feel, probably after nearly 40 years of supporting Cov but I have a bad feeling that making the play-offs will come down to the final day against Boro, and it’ll be their moment for payback. They win, get in, and we drop out.

I agree with all the others saying that we wouldn't win play offs anyway, top 3 teams are too strong, etc but I would love to be in the mix at least. I am just desperate to not have to win on the last day.

Too many Cov fans saying "we always beat Boro", I don't like it.

It is what it is, season still well alive with 7 games to go, we're well positioned, i think most would have called you a lunatic if you'd have predicted this from where we were.
I'm still obviously hoping we can pull off the miraculous this season but if its not to be i'm very much looking forward to next season with Lampard able to get everything in place in the summer.

Equally, we could be confirmed in playoffs by the time we get to Boro. Take it 1 game at a time.

It’s great to have something to play for at this point, rather than mid table and on the beach

Maybe don't spend too much time worrying about it at least until after we play WBA. We will most probably have a clearer picture by then one way or the other.
There are 2 places up for grabs. And we have an excellent record against Middleboro.

I hope you're wrong, but if there's one team I wouldn't begrudge it would be Boro and I'd probably want them to win the play-offs over the other likely candidates too. Tbh if we're still in there with one game to go and in our own hands, then I'd take that scenario right now.

Tbh if we don't go up its just preferable for us if one of the better teams go up, taking emotion out of it.

I agree, although if it's Sheffield United, I'd be hoping they can do a Luton next season.

I keep saying “welll struggle in the playoffs”. It there’s no point in worrying about it until
we are in - same as about being ready for the premier league.

I don’t fancy Sheff U, Leeds or Burnley but I do fancy turning over Sunderland but it would be a tough one if they beat us.

but then again, over 2 legs and a day at our 2nd home at Wembley, I think we’d turn up and perform.

Whatever happens, it’s been a bonus and I’m gasping to see how Lamps shapes the squad over the summer. Signing a player like Grimes tells us a lot

We need to calm down. We have lost one game and some of the mood swings going on are a bit heavy.

It will be what it will be. We are in a great position and have a few tough games to navigate. Try to relax!

I'm more worried that we won't make it due to dropping points from goalkeeper errors, that would be a real sucker punch way to miss out. I just hope Collins has a steady end to the season, so results can't be blamed on him if goes awry.

Wasn't that long ago, people were debating whether we were in a relegation battle ('Where can you see us getting 'x' more wins to reach 50 points' etc) To be wondering whether or not we will have clinched a play off place before we have played our final home game just shows how much people's viewpoints change after a couple of wins or defeats. I am already excited about next season regardless (and looking forward to the rest of this!)

I was one of them, fine to admit. At the time, it looked that way and they’ve proven me and others wrong. Happy days

Yes! We beat Sunderland and we were hearing playoff talk, and even writing off other teams that couldn't catch us despite being only six points behind. We now lost one game to top of the league and we have become worried about the outcome and inventing scenarios about losing in the last game of the season against Middlesborough to lose out.

Take it easy, man!

Just like last time, I'm not going to speculate, worry about it, or get excited. If and when it happens I'll enjoy it as much as anyone else.

One game at a time. We’re more consistent than the others and crucially we’re not drawing games.

winning two and losing one is more points than drawing all 3.

When Lampard came in, think most would have been happy with us being safe mid to top half. Nothing to lose, so let’s just take it one game at a time and try and enjoy it.

Once Burnley are done, a lot of games remains where we are favourites to win.

As much as I wouldn’t begrudge them, it just adds another club to the parachute merry go round. If we don’t go up then let’s hope we get rid of the current top 3 to give us a better shot next season.

Just got to enjoy it. It's been a weird but generally brilliant season. If we don't go up, we do it again with 25-30,000 fans packing the stadium.

We all want to get promoted but there's no guarantee you'd enjoy it there.

I'm personally just still glad to be watching football in Coventry, especially with the improved crowds and matchday experience. It really wasn't long ago that I never thought we'd see that stadium full and playing decent sides each week.

The run in was never about these two games, the play offs will be secured against, Portsmouth, Hull, Plymouth and Luton. Sheff Utd and Burnley I always saw as a free hit and WBA anything can happen as they have had the who do over us for a while. If we can put a half decent show against the first four I mentioned it will be over and done with before we play Middlesborough. Its nervy at the minute but its still in our hands, great times to be a fan.

If we make it,we make it. If we don’t we don’t.
Either way the past few months have been a blast.
As for the playoffs. If we get past the first two legs then we should know better than anyone, anything can happen at Wembley.

Ironically if we beat Luton on the 26th it could send them down? Just imagine they beat us on penalties in the playoffs and went into the Premier league and if we beat two years later we could send them to the dizzy heights of league one (the old div 3)

Ideal scenario would be to beat them , secure our play off spot and send them down . I know I sound petty but sod them

if After the Burnley game we go back to the form we’ve been in we’ll have a play off spot by the Luton game, pretty sure if we lose Saturday then the doubters will start to appear, it’s in our hands that’s all you can ask for,

I can't see 68 being enough, especially with our GD, with 3 teams now within 2 points of us I think 70 minimum.
Providing we beat Portsmouth & Plymouth at home we should be ok, needing about 5 points from the other 5 games.

A lot of the teams around us need to play one another so there will be plenty of weeks where teams around us will drop points.

The 6 pointers are WBA and Boro. As long as we don’t lose them games, we should be fine provided we win elsewhere.

If we get to the final game still in the top 6, or just still with a shot at it, we’ll be good enough to beat Boro. Frankly to even be in it now having spunked away half of the season is ridiculous in itself.

If we fall short it’s not because of whatever happens in these remaining games.

There's a buzz in the air and a very real chance at the playoffs. I believe as always that if we are in the playoffs we will win it.
Burnley coming up will show an indication of where we are. We controlled much of the game at Sheffield so let's not make out the top 3 are on another level. I the last 10 games or so we have been better than all of them. Had we got going early in the season we would likely be sitting in an auto spot right now. It's ours to lose atm.
