Baker sounded like he played well and his second goal was quality and I hope he goes on to continue to play well and score more but the fact that in the last week he has managed to double the number of goals from the previous 3 years is probably a key reason he is not seen as the second Messi

Let's hope he puts in consistently good performances from now on. The whole team needs consistency and what other better place to start than with the captain.

Yeah lets be realistic and sensible but at the same time don't knock the performance too much. You can't say we could have been 2 down in the first 10 minutes....alll teams go through the same thing. fact is they were not and went on to keep a clean sheet and hit 5.
However we expected to win there and we did. Scunny did well again yesterday putting our poor show against them into better light.
We are still awful in large parts but so are so many in this league. We will get better under MR's for sure. We have a large squad for when injuries and suspensions come along.
Right now while MR's is sorting out his squad we need to keep picking up wins. Consistency is what we need right now and we seem to be under less pressure away from home. If you are a football person you will know we don't yet appear to be able to string it together each week but that will change and hopefully a result at Colchester will help that on.
We will get a run together and that will have an impact on this league. Too many teams are inconsistant in this league, remember that.

Completely agree 100% pacman.

Hopefully we won't have too much tinkering around now and we take advantage of our squad and its quality as the season progresses.

But if you believe this all so sincerely, why didn't you post this after we lost at home to Scunthorpe rather than wait until we won on Saturday?

Not sure if that was too me or Paxman. I post it every week rain or shine. After Xmas if we are out of the running I will be mostly posting about TF and Waggot and their derailment of our season.

Nothing will put losing to a team lower than us in league 1, at home, in a good light.

I think the idea that teams at the top are inconsistent in this league isn't exactly true. Of the current top 9 we have only gained on 1 team in the last 6 games. The rest have either increased their lead or had parity with us. It's going to take a monumental effort to close the gap.

Since the defeat to Sc-unithorpe and before yesterday's results. You will find if you can be bothered to look

A post from me saying Baker is quality. Followed by lots of piss taking.

Post from me saying this squad is still capable of going up and if it doesnt, it is due to that 5 match run. Followed by lots of piss taking.

The Barton one I think I mentioned at some point last week when defending the squad to grendel.

The posts are there, the title a 'few home truths isn't'. If that is what you mean. bit of a strange comment if it is.

However if you want to check, please feel free but I am pretty sure the posts about everything I mentioned in this op will be there.

My comments are based on the whole season.

So far results against Shef Utd, Swindon, Crawley. MK Dons and the spanking away if Hartlepool.
Tell me that this team can compete with the top six and should be in there.
I know Hartlepool are shit, however I assume no one else has done them by 5 on their own patch.

Looking at Tranmere sitting second gives me massive hope.

Hartlepool haven't won at home yet, a few draws from winning positions and a win against Crawley. You could also list defeats against Scunny, Brentford, Notts County etc etc and make a claim for no chance. The truth is somewhere in between, we are showing mid table form.

Yep 2-1 defeat to scunny, last minute penalty to Brentford and 2-1 defeat to mitts county.

Yes I appreciate hartlpool are shit, presumably everyone is putting 5 past then on their home ground and we should discount the victory as everyone is doing that to them?

So did I post this lot last week Otis?
