That's probably because both games were awful.

Well they were but that doesn't explain a 16k drop from one home game to the next.

Both Wasps and CCFC can exist at the Ricoh.

It shows that it's all about the football.
The Gillingham game was all about the occasion.

If they were in the PL they would be fine. Extra income and leverage on Wasps (Subject to Sisu being able to negotiate one).
However, like all other average teams that get there we need a sugar daddy.
Does he exits ? Well he might do but we will never know as we are not for sale until we reach the top of the cycle which is the PL.
Until Sisu release the club at a fair price we are fukced !!

We aren't in the Premier League and there is no Sugar Daddy. If there was somebody willing to throw hundreds of millions at us, I am pretty sure he would have phoned SISU up with an offer they would snap his hand off at.

We know the potential support is there, so do SISU, so does Tim Fisher. This idea has been banded about before. How on earth are you going to persuade another 10,000 plus to go to a game as a one off and to prove what exactly ?

To prove the support is still there before we lose people for good.

And yes, we have had big crowds before, but for big occasions and for when the ticket price has been really low.

We have never had 20,000 plus for a meaningless game against a non mouthwatering opposition at full price.

That is what would make this different and that is what would make this stand out.

It would also be very telling because there would be massive decrease in ST take-up, but then an incredible surge in sales for one meaningless game.

Shame people are dismissing this so readily and easily.

It would work and would bring press coverage. Why out of the blue have Coventry City suddenly got a nearly full house for a non glamorous league game!

Fill the stands with banners too and tshirts and posters.

It's a very, very valid point.

It's not as if everyone is going to walk down the road and point at someone and say 'Ooh look, it's Chickentikkamasala. He voted to buy a ST on a small, insignificant Internet forum.'

People don't go if they don't want to.
People eat when they are hungry.
People get into a car when they want to go somewhere.

Your posts are becoming more and more insightful all the time. Keep up the good work.

The point is they people actually go not with some grandiose sub plot to support and financially aid sisu but for a simple desire to continue supporting a team that play football.

The age actually is irrelevant. People on here think Juggy as an example talks a lot of sense and certainly is no fan of Tim Fisher. He will continue.
On that basis we know there will always be a hard core of supporters and we know therefore the club will always adjust budgets accordingly.
People banging on about being named for non attendance are missing the point completely. Non attendance will always increase as the product becomes less and less attractive. It will never completely eradicate though.

As a businessman you should and I will hazard a guess do know (but don't want to admit it). Everything has a cut off point.

A price that if it is offered, the club will be sold at.
A price if it is offered a player will be sold for.
A price if offered the academy will be sold for.
There is also a cut off where decreasing attendances start to become too costly both in terms of running the club and the value of the club in an administration process.
We will reach this point, the question is when.
As more and more people decide to no longer attend for whatever reason that point approaches quickly.
Also people have their own cut off points for attending. They are and always will be supporters of the club and they will return but they just reached their threshold.

Your OP named and shamed people then you moaned about the outrage of naming and shaming people.
Your OP for myself incorrectly suggested I am having a go at people. I never have. Yet ironically you were having a go at people.
The whole thread has been a farce for you and I would think carefully before starting anymore and I wouldn't post in here much more as it keeps bringing it to the top of the pile.

The OP doesn't name and shame anybody. The point is posters like you are operate in a microcosm that means nothing to the majority.

If you want to attract the likes of Covman to your argument be my guest.

As for the last statements I'd think the last person I would take advice from regarding farcical threads is from someone who made such beauties as proud of the council, proud of acl and the all time classic - West Ham would be storming the league if they replaced Allardyce with Andy Thorn

Our gate average for 2005-2006 was 21.5k
for 2006-2007 was 20.5k
for 2007-2008 was 19.5k So it's not impossible to achieve these figures and higher once Shitsu fook off Otis

Just curious & wasn't sure where to post this. As it's titled Home is where the heart is..... Someone mentioned wasps signage....i flicked to twitter & there's a picture of the ricoh. How long will it be until the seats are replaced with black & yellow, & sky blues is replaced with wasps? It surely has to go that way one day... How depressing...

The point is that 'most' people go for the product. There will always be a hardcore support that will turn up regardless.
Used to be above 10,000 probably down to below 4,000 next year.
The job for Sisu is to 'increase' the quality of the product to maximise the attendances not to reduce the quality of the product to match the decreasing attendances which is what they say they are doing.

If they don't want to do what the majority of other owners do, namely put in some money, they should do the right thing for the fans and move aside.
They owe us big time, so they need to say the club is for sale at its value and see if there are any takers.
If there are no takers then we stuck with them.
I suggest that doing the above is a step to far for them.

Tim Fisher telling us that it's effectively the fans fault and that the budgets will drop as support drops has big implications for fans renewing next year.

i observe a growing unity from certain posters on here with the fringe mentality on the CT site.

Namely, there is a growing view they purchasing season tickets is a way to put money into the owners and to support the owners. We are told we need to be aware of our actions and that by taking the action of purchasing a ticket we are keeping sisu here.

Sadly outside of this bubble there lived a lot more normality towards watching football matches.

This season I sit next to a rather engaging couple in their 80's who've supported the club for as long as they can remember. They are very engaging and very much ccfc fans. Also near to me is a chap who is also in his 80's - looks younger - who gets dropped off and picked up by one of his children every game.

These supporters are going to renew next season - well as one of the couple said "as long as we are not dead"

The other elderly chap says it's his day out.

I've never really engaged in a conversation with them about sisu. They wouldn't, I suspect, be interested. Perhaps next Monday I should tell them there are people who are called "Covfan" "Dongonzalos" and "gosford green" who believe they are wrong to renew and they should think of the long term and at least need to know what they are doing. I suspect they'd think I'd lost my mind and ask if I wasn't feeling well.

The point is most people out of here don't think endlessly about NOPM, the principals and the thought of paying for Joy Seppalla's new handbag. Oddly they just want to spend 90 minutes watching a game of football.

No politics, no ulterior motive, no feeding a hedge fund. Just a continual enjoyment of the simple game.

Something I think some in here should take heed from.

So let the old people enjoy the game, whilst the other generations desert the club because of the ownership? sounds like people just want to watch the inevitable death with no regard to a legacy of new fans, who are the the future.

Answer me this, should children still attend games whilst SISU remain and the atmosphere is forever toxic because of them?

Where have I said "do not buy a season ticket"?

I have not bought one since Sixfields as I do not trust the owners not to relocate the club again.
If people wish to buy an ST then carry on, no skin off my nose.

Last season I went to 18 home games and spent a few quid in the bar each game so I have put quite a bit to Joy buying a new metaphorical handbag. I do not really care if money is taken out, it can not be much in the grand scheme of things previous owners have done it.

Those elderly people who have to suffer your company might not have a club to support in 18 months, due to the actions of your nice owners. Good luck in explaining that.
