Didn't Kev Monks admit to the fact that his sources on Cov Mad are sometimes just from him "chatting to other fans"?

I haven't had chance to read the articles to confirm this. But i think we're making a lot of headline news. Just caught a glimpse of a lot of news sites reporting of a sinking ship and going through a rocky patch. So fingers crossed more people become aware of the state of our club.

It's possible there's crossed wires and it's the land around the stadium (owned by the council) and not the stadium (run by ACL) which the charity wouldn't know about officially, just the council.

Though it's still a Kev Monks story so probably completely made up.

This is probably what it is. Building work has started on something across the railway track on the waste land. Perhaps it's a new ground looks like you could get 500 fans in there.

From reading the article it sounds as though the deal is agreed for the land and the council share.
GH wouldnt need to worry too much about the charity owned part as he will have an option to buy that piece when he takes over the club. Owning the land and whatever other vested interests the council have in the arena and stadium would put him in control of negotiations with the Higgs trust.

It would make sense for there to have been some dialogue between an interested buyer and the council as the stadium is key to the success of the club and no one will buy us out without knowing what they need to spend in order to obtain it and whether it is actually for sale by the council.

It could all be bollocks of course but right now i'll clutch at any straw

as either the council or the charity can veto the sale of the shares neither can be excluded from any negotiation regarding ACL. It would be very surprising if, considering the close working relationship between Council and charity, the Higgs charity was in any way excluded. They have more reason to trust each other, not to mention other projects together, than they would have reason to trust prospective buyers, GH, CCFC etc.

Buying the freehold would still leave ACL holding the long lease, breaking the lease could cost millions in compensation.

Think about it - does what we are hearing actually make sense, does it actually mean CCFC owns the Ricoh ?

If confidentiallity is so important how did a few ordinary supporters get hold of this ?

The land and ACL havent been purchased, it sounds to me as though GH has spoken to the council to get an understanding of what the figures would be. It makes sense as he has to be able to give costings on the takeover to his financial backers. I think 'agreed to sell' is misleading and what GH has been given is a value of what he wants to purchase providing he can satisfy the council. The Higgs trust is a different matter but i dont think they will be a stumbling block if GH proves he has the best interest of the club at heart.

No one will touch our club without fully understanding the costs involved of owning the stadium.

I think (though i could be wrong) that the option the club has from the Higgs trust is for the original costs (20m?) so he wouldnt need to speak with them as its a known entity

You are absolutely right. Freehold ownership, does not mean vacant possession of the stadium as it is subject to the ACL lease. And any surrender of the lease would have to be on terms favourable to ACL, which could mean ££££££££££££££££££.

I've got too excited many times before after hearing the latest from the takeover ,or of the buying of the Ricoh.

There was one last week that actually made me have a nice day with plenty of smiling included, only to be let down again next day.

For that reason i'm not going to believe this, and i will with hold any smiling or happy Cov thoughts until something is signed and sealed.

The trust can agree to sell to sisu, but unless they tick all the boxes with the council it won't happen.. And as of yet Sisu have not come up with the money or the plan for investing in the team, only the pan to pay off there investors.... Still along way to go on all this yet and a few twists and turns i think before anything is signed...

Might be a fitting offer if the new buyer asks for a loan against SISU and pays them with that £30m.
