This is splendid news. SISU could end up paying rent to Hoffs consortium. If Hoffs men take ownership of the Ricoh, they could bump up the rent and force SISU to sell or enter admin. Either way it's a brilliant leverage tool.

If GH buys the Ricoh as it stands the tenant is ACL not SISU. CCFC is sub tenant to ACL. Couldnt just dream up a figure for rent it has to be at market value usually or discounted by the landlord. Any such strategy would simply hurt CCFC not SISU

Think the voices in his head have asked for anonymity.

Have to respect journalistic sources.

It's an incredible story to conjur up.

Did he also used to write the front page headlines for the Sunday Sport? I'm still waiting patiently for those photos of that World War II bomber they found on the moon!

A few were told about it last week but it was wanted to be kept out of the public domain because of confidentially agreements etc... dunno how it’s made its way to Kev but no-one wanted it to come out yet.

Will only make the takeover a longer process for all concerned.

The fact that it's come out will only make it longer? How do you know? Are you a SISU insider or maybe Joe Elliott.

if it was so confidential why tell anyone ? seems strange to sign a confidentiality agreement then tell a few who are not party to it.

I was told middle of last week that a deal was agreed for the land but no-one wanted it put on message boards etc... which in my eyes is far enough and its only come out now because Kev has for some reason wanted to make it public.

The £70 million figure quoted is also "said to include land rights for the surrounding area". This could be why the figure is so much higher than previously touted. I don't know how much land is currently owned by the Ricoh but it could be large enough for development at some stage.

Time to up the pressure on Sisu.
If there is any truth to this they must be made to realise they have no future and continued involvement will result in further financial loss and further loss of reputation.

Agreed. If this turns out to be true we will also have the Council to thank for any takeover. Please God let it be true.

This is the potential deal He's working on ,i'm sure he's sounded out the council /ACL,he ain't there yet but we definately have to show SISU the way in no uncertain terms ,en masse ,united

risky business from ALL concerned.

Playing devils advocate for one minute....They buy the ground, but the club, invest NOTHING in the club and we all want them out, well they now own the stadium !

I suppose you have to trust Hoffam to do the best for CCFC, but to me, this coild backfire if the council sell the one thing that SISU cant get their hands on, to another "group" of people who havent PROVED they have the clubs best interest at heart !

There have been no discussions involving the Higgs Charity and the purchase of their shares in ACL and none are scheduled.

Could it be that Hoffs consortium have been seeking the terms of the option to buy and understand that if they purchase the club then they will automatically have the option to buy the ACL shares?

As stated by your good self, the option to buy the shares is owned by CCFC and no third party company i.e. SISU. Can you advise us if the option to buy limits onward transfer to a third party company for a certain period?

I work for the Charity. I am not able to answer your question about the detail of the Agreements between CCFC/AEHC and AEHC/CCC or between ACL/CCFC. All are governed by confidentiality clauses. All I am able to do is to say that if there have been agreements and meetings about sales or purchase etc they have not involved the Charity. I am sorry if this doesn't go far enough but at least it should help people to work out the percentage chance that something has happened.

Would talks need to take place with Higgs at this point tho? Isn't that a set formula for the price, if that's the case any actual talks would need to be with the council if they wanted to buy the stadium outright. If / when they agree surely the purchase of the Higgs share would be straightforward.

PWKH. Thanks for this. From what you have written to me suggests more BS. If there was a £70m Ricoh buyout, then the surely the Charity would know. Strange why Kev Monks would publish this though, just even more infuriating and depressing. Build us up to knock us down. If I've misunderstood, apologies.

Bring back Dhinsa: it was much simpler then. A hired car, a qucik drive up from Reading and a shady meeting in a hotel with McGinnitty leading to massive headlines in the CET. Now what? Chinese whispers. Feminist Keys tweeting. Clark OBEse sayong he has never seen better football and aren't SISU doing well. CovMad coming up with a new rumour nearly every day. The world has gone mad.
£70m for what? The freehold? The lease? The freehold bought from the Council without a Council meeting? The leasehold bought from the Council that doesn't own it? And people believe it all, or at least give 7 pages of thread to discussing it when it is not wrth anything.

The council own the Ricoh and all surronding land. This all has to be bought so it will be a massive sum of money.

council paid 55m net developing the site - ccfc paid 20m

so 70m seems reasonable to me

His previous posts do point towards him being involved in the Ricoh somewhere along the line.

Kev Monks stories however would have even made the old News of the World pause to check for veracity.
